I would like to hear your experiences with these if you don't mind.. My LLMD wants me to take 4 tablets of Ivermectin a day, but so far I'm only doing 2. I plan to increase to 3 and then 4 as tolerated. I'm also taking Pyrantel Pamoate. I tried to start off doing the full dose of Ivermectin and felt horrid the next day.
I'll be taking Ivermectin & Pamoate for at least 21 days. Then I will be on to other meds like Alinia, Albendazole, etc...
As far as binders, I am taking Cholestyramine.. It seems to help, although it kind of gives me indigestion sometimes and a very "full" feeling in my stomach. I assume that's normal? I've heard it can be rough on the stomach...
I would appreciate hearing about your experiences with any of the above meds.. Thanks in advance!

I think we are on the same protocol. Are you taking both cholestyramine and ivermectin? I'm not sure how I should be spacing out the medications. I struggled the first few days with the ivermectin, but now I'm fine.

Yes, I'm taking both. I am always unsure of the spacing myself. I tend to take a dose of cholestyramine in the a.m. and then another late in the afternoon.
My doctor wants me to take the cholestyramine 4x per day, but I don't know if I can do it. It makes me feel quite full and can give me indigestion. The most I've done is 3x per day thus far, but I usually only take it twice.
Anyone else have any input on these meds??

I have taken Cholestyramine, Ivermectin and Albendazole.
For some reason cholestyramine gave me a headache when I took it 4 times per day. I took it for several months and the headache never subsided. And from what I could tell, I didn't experience any improvement in my health while I was taking it.
I am currently taking Ivermectin. But for some reason Ivermectin causes me to feel AWFUL for a few days and sometimes longer after I take it. I don't know if the Ivermectin is killing off some kind of parasite in me and thus it is causing me to experience a herx or a mazzotti like reaction. Or if my body just can't tolerate Ivermectin.
Nonetheless, Ivermectin has been the most helpful drug that I have ever taken. Like I said, I usually feel awful for a few days after taking it but then I start feeling better than I did before I started taking the Ivermectin. It's been a fairly slow process though.
Currently I can only tolerate taking Ivermectin once per week. And sometimes I wait longer than that between doses. But it appears to have helped me. My energy is much improved and my vision is a little better since I started taking it. A few other of my symptoms have improved while I have been taking it as well.
But I wished that I knew exactly why it makes me feel so awful for a few days after I take it!!!!!
I have also taken Albendazole. It appeared to be somewhat helpful to me and I tolerated it reasonably well. Though, I have experienced a herx like or some type of reaction after taking it as well. But the reaction is NOTHING compared to the reaction that Ivermectin causes me to have.

I took the full strength of Ivermectin right away. The herx was quite mild for me.
I take Thorne's Crucera to help with any damage all the drugs do to my GI tract.
I tried binding with charcoal once, and it made me really constipated. Wrong outcome! So I've switched to binding with Chrorella, which doesn't constipate me.
Maybe Ivermectin is hitting something really hard for you?

Ivermectin was a cake walk for me after Albenza and Alinia.
Cholesytramine was extremely constipating and I had to stop taking it.Though it really cleared my head.
I would highly recommend doing colonics while on anti parasite meds. You don't want those drugs or those dead parasites lingering in your body.

So far the cholestyramine has not made me constipated at all. I did notice an improvement right away when I started it. I do feel that taking it 4x per day is a bit much since it makes me feel "full" and sometimes gives me indigestion when I drink it.
emma999--Wow, Ivermectin also makes me feel that way. In fact, I stopped taking it completetly two days ago (I felt like I needed a slight break) and I still feel like crap. I don't know if it's hitting something or if it just doesn't agree with me. We'll see if I feel any better in the next few days. I can't imagine taking it 4x/day, but that's what the doctor asked me to do. I will attempt to work my way up.
It seems like most everything I take ends up making me feel terrible and I have a hard time tolerating whatever it is...sigh. It's frustrating.

Not easy to get unless you have a parasite test that confirms you have parasites. Even then, doctors are reluctant to Rx it. However, curezone has a list of pharmacies that sell it online without an Rx.

Skies, yes, it seems like we are having a similar reaction to Ivermectin. But hopefully our bad reaction is due to the Ivermectin killing off some parasite and thus causing us to experience a herx or mazzotti like reaction. But whatever the reason for my reaction, the Ivermectin has helped me to feel better. And again, it has been a slow process though.
And from what I understand, Ivermectin is usually only administered once daily due to its fairly long half life. Ivermectin metabolites have a 3 or 4 day half life within the body.
So, I would have to think that you shouldn't have to take it 4 times per day. Or for that matter, in my opinion, you shouldn't have to take it everyday of the week either.
"I mean repeat once a week or once every two weeks but never before because the medicine stays in the body during four days, so if you repeat it before that time you could be duplicating the dose and making it poisonous"
So, if I were you I would definitely consider taking the Ivermectin less frequently. You don't want this stuff to build up to toxic levels within the body.

No wonder I still feel like crap even though I've taken a break from the ivermectin. I'll have to speak with my LLMD about this, I am a little concerned about the 4x/day thing.
Seek--these meds were prescribed by my regular LLMD...I think he puts quite a few of his patients through this protocol, as he believes in treating parasites. He has done some studying under Dr. K, and I think that is where this protocol comes from.

I've been on Cholestyramine 3 times a day for several months without too much trouble. My doc said to take it 30 minutes before a meal.
I leave a glass of water, packet and fork in the bathroom so I can take a dose when I get up to use the bathroom at night. That makes the daily scheduling around food and other meds easier

I looked back at script, and I took 4/day (all at once) on an empty stomach for Ivermectin.

dizziness
loss of appetite
nausea
vomiting
stomach pain or bloating
diarrhea
constipation
weakness
sleepiness
uncontrollable shaking of a part of the body
chest discomfort
If you are taking ivermectin to treat onchocerciasis, you may also experience the following side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

I think some of the "side effects" are probably from the die-offs. I also think that if you take binders, it may decrease the effectiveness of the drugs since they stay in you system. I would try enemas or colonics to get the toxins out during treatment. You can try binders later - after the parasites are killed off. Just my personal experience...

My daughter tried Ivermectin a year ago. One pill for for days. She was in a fetal position on the sofa. She was in so much pain all over, depressed. She was a real mess.
Her doctor (who also has a lab) has found it to be very effective in killing that certain parasite that he has been investigating.
She is going to attempt it again, but we will start with a very very small dose and work up.

There are many anti-parasite herbs out there. I put my husband on Parastroy just in case, since the other three of us are being treated for parasites.
So Kelmo, I don't think they need to be Byron White herbs. I think the idea is just that herbs may be more of a low and slow route for some than pharmaceuticals.

Within the last week or so I have noticed that yeast/fungal problems are coming to the surface again for me.
I've read other posts (I think from GiGi) stating that yeast/fugus can be released when parasites are being killed... I guess that might be what's happening with me?? Fairly suddenly I have developed an actual yeast infection (I've had only one other in my life and it was years & years ago) and some white coating on the back of my tongue along with the other more debilitating symptoms of yeast.
I treated yeast pretty agressively in the past and have continued to take VSL#3 and s. boulardii every day..I have also stuck with the diet pretty strictly except for a few slip ups now and then.
I have a call in to my doctor to see what I can do about this yeast.. It makes me feel so sick and miserable that I can barely function. I still have some diflucan left over from the last time I was on it.. or maybe I will try some herbs this time. I don't know.

Wildcondor was right when she told me that Diflucan needs to be take at least 30 days (you do need a break after that because it is hard on the liver).
My daughter was only taking it once a week just to ward off yeast. But, then, no matter how careful she was about sugar, she ate too much fruit, and BAM..yeast infection.
She did 30 days of Diflucan. On day three, she was hit with a HUGE herx of nausea. She said she hadn't felt so sick in a long time.
Around the 30th day, her legs broke out in a rash that we could only surmize were toxins trying to get out. It was a big die off.
We know this only from history, in her case. Usually, she gets a big toxin release with a lot of itching in her legs. I think that has something to do with gravity.
Anyway, after thirty days, she was doing much better. She is going to make a 30 day protocol of Diflucan a part of her regular treatment.
By the way, she is also faithful about taking Theralac and S Builardii every day. She has not had a problem with C Diff...thank God.

Okay, my daughter is on day four of starting Ivermecting. We have taken a 3mg pill and quartered it. She seems to be tolerating it, but can feel a shadow of what she experienced before at full dose.
What I am curious about. I'm reading on here that some people start with eight pills a day, or one 11 year old gal starting with 48mg daily.
HOW?
From what I have read about Ivermectin, the human dosage needs to be much less than what animals can tolerate.

My daughter did Ivermectin at 48mg daily for 14 days. She had no problems whatsoever on it..was able to remain in school etc.
Before that she did 2 days of Biltricide followed by the Ivermectin and Pyrantel Pamoate for 14 days...
She then did Albendazole for 14 days and did not run into any problems until the Alinia. That she cannot tolerate at all.
She is 17 years old.

What is your dose? Even when she cut the dose in half she still felt very sick. Sometimes it took like 6 hours to hit her but it eventually did. She tried it a couple times and it was not worth it.
