The first day I felt ill was June 20, 2010, exactly a year ago. My symptoms were pain in my right side, weakness, fatigue and nausea. Three weeks after I started feeling ill, I broke out in a multi-lesion rash. The rash was on my right side where I had been feeling pain. My symptoms continued over the past year. The LLMD I saw recently thinks I have Lyme disease. I just started treatment with antibiotics three weeks ago. Today, my anniversary date, has been really, really bad. The pain in my side near the site of my tick bite is worse than ever. And, I feel so incredibly weak. It's hard to even get up and walk around. I think I remember reading something about herxing on the anniversary of the tick bite, but I'm not sure about this. Just wondering if the timing (my anniversary date) might have something to do with an exacerbation of my symptoms?

Hey Tennessee!
Welcome to LymeNet!
I've not heard about the herxing on the anniversary date, but hey, I've never been to China either, so I can't say much on the topic.
BUT... three weeks is about the time some folks take to get a herx on antibiotics.
Sorry you are feeling worse, but hopefully it will clear soon!

On second thought... if spirochetes could remember anniversary dates, they'd technically be smarter than most men.

Man. I've been here nearly 11 yrs and have never heard that question!!
We herx every 3-5 weeks .. so it wouldn't be entirely unusual to be herxing 12 months later.
happy anniversary! Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

Who can remember their anniversay date without going back and reading notes from years ago.
I have a large file of notes and some diary type notes. When I go back and read them, looking for something usually to help someone else....I tend to get a little frustrated. Especially during a toxic period when the bacteria think they are in control.
I remember dates back to 99. I could do a day by day account from June to Nov of 99. Well pretty close?
But forgot something someone told me ten minutes ago????

I have no idea what day I was Lymed. How about March 1, 1959?

The moon makes us herx When i was looking into getting some teasel i found lady barbara's website. "The moon pulls on the tides and on the fluids in our bodies. If your joints are inflamed and the fluid is disturbed, theyre going to flare." I have definitely noticed in increase mainly in neurological symptoms during a full moon, especially a couple days before the official full moon i get very irritable. I thought this was very interesting, i might make a new post to discuss, sorry to hijack! I dont think lyme knows its anniversary, but i realized that it was exactly two years since i got bit yesterday, and i felt like crap yesterday so who knows! I would say coincidence though.

As a moderator of this board, I can definitively say people are affected by the full moon. The board is calm all month, then a few days before the full moon, chaos. Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Very true, Six!!
We used to have a member here who had the scientific explanation on the full moon thing. She and I were both greatly affected by the full moon.
Besides what you wrote, tickbiter, it also has to do with the cycle of the spirochetes themselves.

You're laughing now but when it's happening....it's katie bar the door!!!!!!!!!!
All heck is breaking loose. You would think the moderators would have a time out period for those misbehaving during the full moon.
Or some really good knock out drugs or something. Heck they'd be better off knocking lymenet off line some months(moons) are stronger than others.
Many in alternative world believe it is parasitic activity and not bacterial? I know in the retail world, oh my, customers got crazy and of course the rule is.... the customer is always right. Or so it's preached.
Hello? They don't have their sanity, how can they be right?

My cousin has been an emergency room nurse for 25 years.
She says that each month during a full moon, all hell breaks loose. There are many more serious fights, gunshot wounds, etc. than usual.
She's in the military reserve as a colonel. She's very responsible and if she's observed this, I believe it's true.
