yawn....claiming this is not lyme disease it is babesia and can kill you. I shouldn't be so jaded it was good of ABC to put this out there although this is something all of us have known for years.
Upon looking a little deeper into this story they were quoting a guy representing Yale speaking up about babs. I copied and pasted this below from a well known LLMD's page. So this is great a guy from Yale is making national eve news with the story on babs.
Unfortunately Yale University is considered [a major] authority on Lyme disease. Their position is that 4 weeks of antibiotics is more than enough to cure the illness. If one still has the exact same symptoms on the day after this arbitrary time limit, then we are told we are no longer actively infected with the lyme spirochete but that now we either have an autoimmune disease, depression or antibiotic seeking behavior. I've spoken to so many people who "once had lyme" and they now supposedly have Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, ALS, Fibromyalgia, etc.

For them to quote someone from Yale which is considered a anti lyme force saying that babs can kill you and a very serious threat currently is nothing but positive news for us. I say that after reading about how much input Yale is for the anti-lyme group.

I just got dxed with Powassan virus which is tick born and deadly. Already dealing with Babs,Bart and lyme is down. Doing all Byron White herbals.

Yes, and the tick needs to be attached for hours. Get to your doctor if you display these type of flu-like symptoms.
Give me a break....all your doctor is going to say is go home and take some aspirin and it will all be better in a week.

Don't even know which abx it is because the odds of someone taking you serious are very low, even after the Yale dude made some SERIOUS comments on this tick borne illness.
Excuse me, but is it ticks only that carry babs? What if I was bitten by some little old horse fly?
No need to worry about fleas, mites, mosquitoes, etc. All you need is prozac and you will feel much better.
Sorry jarjar, I'm just not excited like you. Oh yeah is mainly in the northwest and upper midwest according to their map.
I live in Kentucky. So I have no fear that the suspicious symptoms I've been having for some months are babs coming to the surface or it was another darn bite that I've gotten in the last year or so.

May I ask - do you have any idea where you were to have contracted it? In CA or elsewhere, if you know? And if in CA, where? Good to hear you at least got dx'd accurately.

Pam I didn't say I'm excited. To me it is a positive when you have a university like Yale that has been poo-pooing lyme and the IDSA lapping it up to suddenly change course and start saying babs can kill you on t.v..
Makes the IDSA look like idiots when Yale, considered the major authority on Lyme disease to come out public saying certain tick infections can kill you. No longer can one justify after 4 weeks of antibiotics if babs isn't cleared up just take anti-depressents till you die.

Yes, this is something very positive. We need Yale to back us up. Maybe the doctors will take notice. This is a beginning of something good I can feel it.
