My nightmare has just happened. I'm pretty sure I was just bitten again. I have a small rash that it's possible to see a little bullseye. I just noticed this today. I heard that EM's (if this is one) can appear 4-several weeks after the bite. I immediately took 200mg of doxcy (I know the course is 4-6 weeks)....would like to know your thoughts on the course of treatment for someone who has JUST been bitten (which antibiotic and for how long). I did not find a tick on me nor a scab but I can see the head of some kind of bite. I had been bitten in the past and was misdiagnosed the whole deal and just finally got over it. I am familiar with the Burrascano protocol but wanted to know everyone else's thoughts! Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I believe you should be taking 400mg of doxy not 200mg.
And from what i have heard at least take it for 4-6 weeks like you said. I got this info. from reading other posts about this, not personal experience.

One mouse study has 19 days doxy being able to prevent the disease. I would take it for at least this long.
Co infections come into play.

I would want 200mg twice a day for at least 6 wks. The keets cycle every 3-5 wks.
I have started doxcy 200 mg twice a day...going to have to get another prescription from my other doctor to get enough (my primary care only gave me 100 twice a day for 4 weeks). I plan to take it for 6 weeks....ugh. I read though that the rash may not show up right after you were bitten and could have been infected a few weeks ago. Do you think this is possible? I really hope not. I really hope that I got it on the first day :-( Any thoughts?
