Hi, I read that some of you with MCS have Heavenly Heat saunas.
How did you react to the sauna when it first arrived?
Was there off-gasing?
Could you use it right away without reaction?
Thanks for your help!

I haven't tried a heavenly heat sauna, but wanted to mention here, for folks with MCS, that I have severe MCS, and am finally seeing that I can detox with a far infrared sauna -
In my case, I've been sweating on a FIR biomat for 6 months, but any form of FIR sauna will do - to sweat out the toxins and so be able to handle anything chemical more normally again - so this is a plug for FIR to treat MCS -

Please help. This is for my daughter who is completely debilitated
by MCS and needs a sauna specically designed for MCS patients but
I need feedback on this company.
Thanks so much!

imagine, another way to go is to ask around for a used FIR tent or biomat that someone could loan you. That would cut down on outgassing.
Sorry, but I don't know anything about the heavenly heat product. Do you have any local support groups you could check in with?
Also, every state is organized for Lyme discussion, and if you aren't already a member, you could join. Yours would be http://www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Virginialyme Posted by Tonglen (Member # 18472) on :
For severe mcs, the model with mostly glass is best because all woods offgas to some degree. If you are sensitive to wood terpenes or poplar (which is what the HH is made of), you may need to offgas it for awhile before use. Ask the company if they can offgas a model for you.
I can't tolerate any sauna except all ceramic.
Be well!

Tonglen, Which saunas are all ceramic?
Thanks Robin. Good idea!

Some gyms might have a fir sauna also, I know one here does. Maybe a 30 day trial membership could allow her to test it out if available.

For what it's worth, according to the article down bellow getting into some FIR saunas may not be healthy due to the EMF's emitted by some FIR sauna's.
Personally, I am not sure if EMF exposure is as harmful to us as some people claim. But since many people believe that EMF's can cause harm to the body I thought that I would mention this.
