My other son has tested positive for P41 through Labcorp. There were 4 +'s. All of the tests for co-infections came back negative and all other aspects of his blood work are normal. His only symptoms are leg pain, nightmares and bad night sweats since he was little. He can be moody but can't all 7 year olds?
We are going to do a Western Blot IGM and IGG through Igenex. The Dr. feels that it will come back with many positive bands.
I wonder how he got it? I don't think he has been bitten but I guess who knows? Should my husband and I get tested? I am confused.....

The ticks can be the size of a poppyseed so it is quite possible you never saw it and he brushed it off. I didn't know I had Lyme until my son tested positive through IgeneX. I had been told I had lupus. My oldest son we didn't think had Lyme, but he did. They both got it through me. My oldest only had swollen lymph nodes and jaw and hip pain. We didn't even think he was sick. Did you imply that your other son is positive, too? IgeneX sounds like a good next step. Hopefully he will have a quick and easy recovery!

He could still have babesia since he has leg pain, nightmares and night sweats. .. esp the sweats.
He could easily have been bitten as ktdommer said and never saw the tick.
or... He could have gotten it from you. If you have any symptoms at all it would be good to get tested.

I think she means he was positive for Band 41 with 4 +s next to it. (ex 41++++)
My son's first two tests only came back with Band 41. More bands showed up when we ran the Igenex test and after he had been on abx.

If your son, or anyone else is sick, you should treat, and consider him for all intents and purposes infected. For me that would mean things like not sharing food/drink, being careful around blood/other fluids, etc.
