I am asking this on behalf of someone else. Did it take more than one Igenex test to test positive or is it one and done?

We have had our daughter tested 4 times with IGeneX, all negative.
1st test - 2 positive bands & 2 IND bands, 2nd test - 3 positive bands & 2 IND bands (one positive was on IgM band 34), 3rd test - 2 positive & 3 IND; 4th test - 1 positive and 2 IND.
Except for the 1 34 band reading all were on IgG.
Her immune system is still not kicking in enough.
We would prefer a positive serological result to help with insurance but besides that we know its Lyme due to symptoms and the readings which indicate the pressence of a spirochete bacteria.

there are other good lyme labs besides igenex that actually take insurance.
I tested positive my second time at igenex after going on antibiotics for a few weeks before sending blood.

I tested negative also. Try the 31 epitope test from Igenex. It's an additional test that uses your same blood and is specific for lyme exposure.

Thank you for your replies. Perhaps I should rephase the question. Did anyone, other than Knight33, not test positive with a Lyme specialty lab the first time but did on subsequent testing. Interesting Knight that you had to go on antibiotics to test positive by Igenex.
