Do most doctors consider an IgG of 40 for Bartonella and babesia positive from Igenex ?

Thanks for your reply. I had igenex testing bc my son is being treated for lyme. my babesia Igg is 40 and the doctor gave me mepron and azith. my western blot was negative but 41 was ind and band 83-93 was positive. doctor thinks that will convert to positive after treating babesia. i don't really have any symptoms and am afraid to treat bc i need to care for my son. his most recent igenex was ind on igm bands 31,39 and 41 and positive on 83-93; his bart Igg is 40, and rickettesia Igg 40. we are currently several months into treatment for him. he was on azith and alinia for 2.5 months by prior llmd then 4.5 months of biaxin/omnicef and now 2.5 months of biaxin/rifampin. No improvement in sxs but now that his bartonella Igg is at 40 the llmd wants to continue rifampin for a full 6 months, possible treat babesia since I am positive, the deal with rickettesia and lyme. i am so overwhelmed as we were told the last 6 months it seems he just has lyme and now we are talking about 3 co-infections needing treatment. i see no end in sight and he is only 6 years old and has been taking antibiotics for years and still has not improved. any reassurance is greatly appreciated Posted by sbh93 (Member # 30429) on :

I wish I had reassurance to offer. I have been treating for lyme since March and just found out I also have babs and bart myself. We believe that one of my children has at least lyme, but are waiting to test and treat because he is functioning whereas I am not when not being treated.
I understand your decision on that front, but personally I would monitor myself to make sure I didn't get to a point where I couldn't care for my son anyway, so take care of you too, at least as far as immune support.
All I can tell you is my llmd is staying the course treating the lyme at the moment for now. He emphasizes how everyone has different opinions (treat co-inf first, parasites, etc.) but no one has concrete answers.
I would say make sure your son's (and your) immune system is being addressed. Proper diet, fight yeast with antifungals and probiotics, exercise, etc. play a huge role in feeling better. Read Burrascano's guidelines if you have not. Consider taking your son to an ND if you have not.
Vitamins, diet, etc. are keeping me functional even though I am still miserable. If your son has shown no improvement at all, I worry that his own immune system is not getting the support it needs to stand up and fight for itself.
