I had been doing well lately, so last week my LLMD, asked me to stop Tindamax while still taking Rifampin. I last took Tindamax on Wednesday. Since Saturday I have felt like I have been run over with a Mack truck. General malaise, lots more pain, pain in places that I haven't had in months. Increase in Headache. I was so hoping this was the start of a new and good direction.

Have others experienced similar reactions in stopping an ABX? Does this mean the bugs are still very active? What now?

Sorry that truck ran you over!

I know that I've felt like that when I "started" taking Tindamax (as well as Rifampin), but certainly not after stopping it. I believe that it may treat parasites and possibly Babesia - so that might be one possible cause.

Have you called your doctor? He/she would probably like to know this and advise you as to what to do.

Feel better!

Tindamax is the #1 cyst buster but also works on other pathogens from the ticks.

I know my daughter hated taking it but it helped considerably with her neuro lyme symptoms.

yeah, me too! wonder that no one else had it.

i got terrible neuro symptoms after stopping tini. it wasnt a coincidence. it happened twice to me. i know from one other person who had this.

i have been researching and thinking hard how this can be, but didnt find a satisfying exlanation.

I wonder if you needed more time with Tindamax? Maybe you were taken off to soon.

Im bumping this because oddly enough this just happened to me. My insurance will not cover more Tindamax until next month (???) So I ran out on Friday. Yesterday, I felt pretty bad, and today I feel like my arms and legs are made of lead. I can barely move or walk. I slept all day today. In fact I just woke up. And I am ready to go back to sleep.

pooldog have your symptoms cleared up?

I don't understand why people are confused as to why you feel bad when you stop an antibiotic. You can't attempt to treat an infection, then prematurely stop treatment.

If you have a sinus infection and stop taking your antibiotics halfway through treatment, what's going to happen?

Just because you start to feel better doesn't mean the infection is gone--if you stop treatment and the bugs are still there, they come back. This is especially true for the coinfections, which return very quickly.

You've basically been treating the regular AND cyst form of Lyme disease and then had the rug pulled from under you. Of COURSE you're going to feel worse!

(I'm going to start Tindamax once I'm finished with Rifampin.)
