Does anyone know for sure if heat kills off some of the lyme spirochetes? I know they hate oxygen (exercise), but since we're having a heatwave (ha ha)--just wondering.

That would be nice, but no. The body has to be at 104 degrees for a while, like an hour or more to make a dent. That ain't gonna happen, even in this heat! Nice try though.

My wife went almost one month symptom free after a high fever from a cold virus once.
Prior to that she only went a week or so without treatment before symptoms would come back.
It did seem to reduce the infection, but who knows how long you would need to have high fever to eliminate it entirely?

I think I was born in menopause. I asked "is it hot in here or is it just me" when I was a kid.
if heat worked like that, I would not have received the timeless gift of lyme.
Then the babesia drenches came.........

No matter how hot it is outside it can never be hot enough to penetrate deep enough to kill off spirochetes.

yeah but ticks don't like the heat either...remember---put the clothes in the dryer to kill them
and most of them(ticks) don't have access to AC
lets think positive...maybe it will help!!!

The ticks are actually more active, and more of them are "hunting", when it's hot outside. But it also has to be humid.

i think i read somewhere you would have to have a fever of like 105-106 for 24hrs and that would kill off all the lyme, of course you might end up dead from the fever.
