For the past week I've had inner ear itching and sinus pain and I assumed the medication was working on killing bacteria.
Last night I began having ringing in my ears and a feeling a pressure.
This morning I'm having ear pain and trouble moving my jaws. I didn't take my doxy and called my doctor, but she isn't available until Monday.
Is this die off or is this a dangerous side effect?
I hate to go several days without my meds, but I also don't want to have permanent hearing damage.
Any thoughts? Anyone have a similar experience?

keep on the doxy until they say to stop. Doxy doesnt cause those side effects, probably a herx.

Are you taking anything to prevent yeast?
When I had itchy ears one Dr told me it's allergies and another said it's a sign of yeast. I did have a lot of head pressure when I first started Doxy too.
I've also heard this crazy weather is causing lots of sinus pressure issues for people that never had them before.

I took Doxy fine for a month. At 4 weeks I got the most excruciating migraine, I was in tears. My doc. said that tetracylines (doxy) can cause intracranial pressure. I had to stop and the headache diminished. My new LLMD says that I can try it again and it probably wont happen.
I think it was the drug but since it came exactly at 4 weeks, could have been a lyme herx, but the headache was too much and I haven't had it since. If you get too much head pressure you may need to take a break b/c it may be a side effect. Your other symptoms sound very 'herxy' to me though.

Also, since you've been on it 3 weeks and you are getting these issues, it most likely is a herx. Lyme has cycles roughly every 28 days.
