weird, strange happening....

I'm on oral levaquin and IV zith, have noticed the white cloth towels I dry my hands with are turning a bright yellowish color......

I have changed them every few days to see if it was something I had on my hands and it still happens... I use liquid soap and wash well...

Is this possibly the meds or something else that maybe happening?

the cloth I have over my picc seems to have some yellowing too.... I change it every other day too...

I've never had this happen before, not on clothing or anything...

My urine is almost a neon yellow color too.. haven't had any dark yellow/orange color to it since starting these meds...

Just wondering if it is or has happened to others... Thanks, Roger

Does your skin or the whites of your eyes have a yellowish tint to them? Are you seeing the yellow color rub off on your clothes too?

If you are jaundiced you can see yellow rub off onto your white and light colored clothes. You may not notice a drastic skin color change if you have darker or olive colored skin.

You may want to notify your doctor so that they can at least order some liver function tests.

Another thought, have you been gardening or possibly picking tomatoes? When I wash my hands after I pick tomatoes they always have a yellow stain on them.

Could it be Lymph drainage:::???

Your lymphatic system is set in place to carry heavy toxins from your tissues to your elimination system. Your lymph system has a kind of gelled suspension liquid which allows the toxins to travel without harming your body in the process.

Sometimes, in the case of massage or leg waxing, a deep tunnel is temporarily made from the surface of the skin down to the lymphatic system.

This can especially happen on your inner legs and sides of your torso about three or four inches below the arms. Lymph will drain out, ridding your body of the unwanted toxicity. This is, however, a rather unnatural method to achieve lymph drainage.

One of the best ways to drain your lymph is to get hot towels or washcloths which have been soaked in boiling hot water and then squeezed out almost dry, and to wrap your legs with them or to lie on your back on top of them. This creates a nice, wet vacuum between the towel and skin, which allows your tissues and lymph to drain into the wet towel.

Do not move, and keep the towels on for about two hours. When you get up, shower in hot water, finishing with an icy cold rinse to close your pores.

Thanks for the replies everyone...

I only see the yellowing in the whites towels I use in the kitchen..(and on my sock over my picc) only where I rub my hands dry.. I always was with a liquid soap and rinse them very clean...

that is what makes me wonder what is going on.. it never did this until I started the levaquin and IV zith..

I'll mention it to my doc and see if she has heard of it..

I don't see any yellowing of skin or eyes..

I only pick a couple of tomatoes every few days and was doing so before this started.. I had wondered if that was doing it myself..

I'm really hurting with these meds, thinking it's the levaquin... was on oral zith and didn't have much reaction..

Thanks again for the responses, Roger

Hi Roger,

I just finished a couple months of oral Levaquin. My skin, especially hands and feet turned visibly yellow, eyes were okay. Doc checked liver enzymes and they came back normal but he took me off Levaquin anyway. It hasn't quite faded yet. I eat carrots every 7 days since I'm on a rotation diet so I now it's not food related. I'm wondering if the drug is a factor too. I'm on zith now and it's been better. Hopefully it will fade all together. But my towels are dark in color so I didn't notice it there-however my pillowcase, now that you mention it, has taken on a yellow cast as well which is something that's never happened.

Hi Atta, thanks for the reply...

It's crazy, seems to come from my hands only, especially after washing them.. like you, it seems to have started when I was put on Levaquin...

It doesn't really bother me, was just curious if others had this strange occurrence too...
