Hi all!

New here and to Lymes except reading (til cross-eyed!) [dizzy] for almost 2 weeks.

I tested with ONLY IGM band 23 Reactive on WB, from a regular lab. (Quest in VA).
First Lyme test I've had.

Just want your opinions if this is enough to continue looking towards Lyme (additional CD57, etc?)

I've been sick 19 years Dx as Fibro, Endometriosis, CFS, EBV, and possible Lupus, etc.(positive ANA).
THANX!!

Band 23 is definitely Lyme-specific .. meaning only Lyme can cause it. Are you sure there were no other bands? Usually band 41 will also show up.

I would suggest getting a test through Igenex Lab. www.igenex.com . Test #188 and 189

I'm very sorry that you have no LLMD's in GA. You will need to travel for help.

Thank you LymeToo! I only have what the Lab sent me on the computer, as far as Nonreactive or Reactive by each band and yes, 23 is the only one according to this typed report. Of course they are calling both sections negative overall.

I would definitely say you need testing as mentioned above. It is worth a serious investigation. I had many of your symptoms and believed what the docs told me about lupus until my youngest became so sick and bedbound. He tested positive through IgeneX and later I was CDC positive.

My ILADS doctor would probably try treatment with just a clinical diagnosis which you probably would meet.

What happens when you go on antibiotics for something?

I would go to the seeking doctor section and request for Georgia or surrounding states, call and get an LLMD appointment, as there probably is a wait to be seen. You can always cancel.

If you've been sick with Lyme for 19 years you are going to want a good doc. You can also try the Georgia Lyme Association for help.

Don't wait!

I only had band 23 as well. It was on the IGM and the IGG and it was through Quest. I was started on abx and am improving so this is definitely worth pursuing imo.

Good luck.

I agree. You may consider a challenge with antibiotic like doxycycline and then no meds for at least 10 days prior to draw.

For some of the sickest patients this seems to bring it out so they can see it.

China now says you only need one band now unless that band is 41 yours is not...

So I would get a LLMD to help you asap.

My daughter also had only band 23 on Quest WB. Clinically diagnosed and symptoms have definitely increased with abx. Band 23 is Lyme specific. Subsequent Igenix testing showed additional and different bands, but not ever CDC positive.

Yup.. Band 23 alone can= Lyme. Get tested thru igenex and see other bands show up. Find a doc literate to Lyme disease.
