I have recently been diagnosed with Lyme but have been suffering from recurrent severe Staph infections of the skin for over 2 years. IT IS NOT MRSSA it is straight staph.

I get huge abscesses that have to be surgically drained leaving holes the size of golf balls or larger! I have been hospitalized multiple times because of blood poisoning due to severe Staph infections.

Could this be a co-infection of Lyme? Has anyone else had a problem with Staph associated with Lyme?

Yes, staph can be a problem, with or without Lyme and tick bites. Sorry you are having to deal with it too!

Check out tick pyaemia. It was found years ago in sheep I believe.

Actually, (wasn't sure I spelled it right and I did- HA!)... here is a link with a little about staph and tick bites.

You might also consider Bartonella as a cause or contributing factor here?

Hope your Lyme treatment helps with the staph also.

Good luck!
