I have awful headaches and I am trying to determine if they are lyme related or sinus related.
Advil does not touch them anymore.
I definitely have a history of sinus issues but these headaches feel like two sharp stabbing pains running from the front/top of my skull, kind of behing my eyes.
They get progressively worse as the day goes on.
I do have other kinds of headaches that I associate with the "cfs" symptoms of lyme.....but this one is different and not responding to medication.

First with the headaches, yes it can be lyme but also babesia or bart.
It�s amazing there is a controversy to this insidious disease and I�ve found it easiest to show a couple of u tube video�s on the controversy.

Yes, headaches can be from this. I haven't had headaches for a while but now that I'm using byron white A-bab, I'm getting them everyday. They feel like sinus headaches too.
Advil and Claritin gets rid of them temporarily though one is supposed to push through it. But, not me. I HATE these kind of headaches and I can't function when I get one.

This information changed my life, as I investigated using systemic enzymes to reduce hypercoagulation. I tried a couple of enzymes, but when I tried Wobenzym, within two weeks I no longer woke every day with a splitting headache.
p.s. I also get persistant headaches when I'm having a Herxheimer reaction. Liver support should help this, as when the liver detoxifies the poisons left behind by dead Lyme bacteria, herx symptoms will subside.
One person here who did castor oil packs on her liver noticed that her headache improved.

OK...I KNOW I have hypercoagulation...at least I think this is what you are talking about.
I have antiphospholipid syndrome/anticardiolipin antibodies that cause excess clotting. No major issues with this, just noted in the blood tests along the way..
Is hypercoagulation associated with Lyme? (I also had a TIA in November) Would it show up on an MRI?
This is so important.....I will bring this up to my doc. As some of the symptoms go away I notice others a little bit more. It would be nice to connect the dots....and this little bit of information truly helps.

Babesia is usually the number one culprit when it comes to headaches.

I have had the most unbearable, excrutiating headaches from Babesiosis. The only thing that helped them was treating the Babs.

I had terrible headaches with babesia. Imetrex helps if you take it right away - don't give it time to get really bad.
Some abx can cause headaches too. I just took tindamax this morning and have a headache. Now I remember why I quit taking the stuff!

Right now I am taking doxy plus supplements.
What is the most effective way to treat for Babs so my headaches go away. I have read the diagnositic characteristics of Babs and do believe that I have it. Will doxy treat it effectively.
I have tried to ride these out, but they never subside. Because of the mental/cognitive difficulties, more pain in my head just makes things worse. So I take advil almost daily. I don't like it but I have to get through a day.

Babesiosis is similar to malaria and is typically treated with an anti-malarial such as Mepron or Malarone in combination with an antibiotic. There are also herbs that can be effective.

I think I have an appt next week. Really I am just trying to figure it out.
I am feeling better in the fatigue dept about 2 months on abx (though I have been sick for over 3 years). As some of the more disturbing symptoms are coming under control I am noticing how severe some of the other symptoms are that I didn't even consider.
The fatigue and mental difficulties have been so overwhelming that these terrible headaches almost took a backseat! I will speak with her about all of this. She has never really mentioned coinfections to me, except that I know I have chronic active EBV from bloodtesting.

Do you have a Lyme Literate doctor?? It doesn't sound like it, although I'm not sure. This is essential! YOu need to see the best LLMD you can find (if you haven't already).
Yes, Lyme and Babesia treatment lessened the HORRIBLE migraines that I used to have 2-3 times a week to every day. I'm not at all done with treatment, but it's made a major difference in that symptom.
In the meantime, you need adequate meds for the headaches, like a migraine med, if they are migraines, and, if needed something stronger. There are doctors who specialize in migraine treatment, if you have that.

Im surprised everyone is saying Babs, because frontal sinus type headaches are typically Bartonella along with the behind the eye pain. My Babs headaches were at the back of my neck. My Bart headaches are at the front and top of head. I only have Bart left and these are what I have. Search for Bartonella symptoms on here. The extreme tiredness for me is also Bart, along with joint and muscle pain.

I think I have symptoms of both actually. I have at least three types of headaches. One I attribute to sinus only, but there are the sharp headaches that I have behind my eyes, AND I have headaches that are more dull and radiate from about halfway back on my skull down my neck and impact my ears as well. These have subsided somewhat.
I think that I have bart symptoms such as neuro symptoms that outweigh physical symptoms
AND Babs symptoms such as rapid onset (immediately after surgery), mental slowness, fatigue and dizziness.
Can I have both? Plus EBV? I am so confused.
Is one more associated with hypercoagulation or is that a lyme thing?

Yes, you can have both and any viruses. I have Lyme, Babs, and Bart. At the top of the page search for bartonella symptoms. Hypercoagulation is actually one of them.
You sound just like me when I got sick. I had mine start after surgery also...
My Babs symptoms were greatly overpowered by Bartonella. You can private message me if you have any questions.
