I treated bart last year with Bactrim DS/ Zithromax -and then babesia became the primary problem. I have been on Mepron or Malarone and zithromax. The LLMD said zithro would keep whatever other infections I have under control but about two weeks ago I developed an allergy to zithro - covered in hives.
Now I read if I am allergic to one macrolide I am probably allergic to all of them.

I had no bart or Bb symptoms - NONE for ten months. Since my babesia symptoms have diminished and since quitting zithro, I have began to feel burning in my shins again and I am more irritable. I suspect the bart is back.

What do you take to treat bartonella while you are taking malarone? I can't take levaquin, macrolides or amoxy. Doxy and rifampin shouldn't be taken with atovoquone. Is Bactrim DS effective without the macrolide?

I use DNA frequencies on a Coil
Houttuynia, Cumanda, Nosodes (w or w/o PE-1), Rhodiola, Red Root, Knotweed, Boneset

That is something I had not thought of - the rife machine is new to me.

If this is bart, and I am pretty sure it is, I am to the point where drugs cannot take care of the residual infection so when I quit it just comes right back. You would think after a year of being symptom free (of bart and Bb), I would be ok. Guess that lump on the side of my ankle was a clue.

I am going to make an appointment today with a LLND. At some point I will have to transition to alternative because I don't believe I can eliminate these infections completely with drugs and my immune system needs some support to do it on it's own.
I don't think I am ready yet.

I used houttuynia for 8 months until it became resistant. I just got rhodiola and I have some of the other herbs - cumanda, maybe knotweed.

I also used clove bud oil with no success.
I even mixed it in DMSO and rubbed it on my shins hoping it would penetrate into the infection. Burned like &%^$# but did nothing.

A-Bart may help since you already have knocked it down quite a bit.

Sounds like you hit it down with Bactrim and Zith and just need to finish it off with Rifampin. Bactrim can be taken without a macrolide.

Thanks Jamers. I am still treating babesia with malarone but I added Bactrim this morning. I am glad it can be taken without a macrolide. Tomorrow I will start the rhodiola. I don't know how to get A-Bart. It must be good because everyone recommends it.

I made an appointment with an LLND for the beginning of Oct.
Hopefully she will have a new idea.

NEff...I"m treating BAbesia right now with 6 pills of Malarone / day (250/100mg) plus Zith and ARtemisinin.

I currently take A-Bart for Bartonella. It has helped a TON.
