My primary doctor is really nice about ordering me what I want within reason.
I can't afford to go see my LLMD right now. I got rebitten in June and got a rash..and then a few weeks later I got a long streak rash. I know it's Bart.
By the time I could get in to see my PCP the rash was gone (it lasted about 5 days) so I knew she might not prescribe anything for a rash that was almost gone. So I didn't go.
But now my feet hurt SO BADLY. It's like I've been walking on stones all day, and it hurts even when I'm not on my feet.
So I am going to ask her tomorrow for abx for Bart. But I'm not sure which to ask her for. She doesn't even know how to test for it...not that the tests are reliable anyhow.
So do I ask for Biaxin? Zithromycin?

Most ticks carry multiple pathogens, so if it were me, I would ask for an abx combo that would attack Bb, babesia, bart, etc. According to recent studies, Tindamax appears to be the most effective abx for all forms of Bb. It is also an antiprotozoal med.
I had Bb and bart with the sore feet symptoms you described. Cipro and levaquin work against bart, but levaquin did not help me.
Tindamax (500 mg) and cipro (250 mg) twice daily with meals made me start to feel better within a couple of weeks, but it took 6 months for me to get to 100% last year, probably because I was untreated for about 10 years.
I did fine for a year until I had an URI and took a z-pak a few months ago. Shortly thereafter, my feet started hurting again, so I am back on tindamax and cipro and plan to stay on them for several months.

Thanks Jason. At canefan...I'm pretty sure a nuclear weapon would fall under the "not within reason" category lol

I am adding rifampin for bart to levaquin, tindamax and minocycline plus artemesia. My bart symptoms kept coming on this summer.
