For about a month now, I have been hearing things randomly. Usually in my bedroom when I am alone and it is quiet.

It sounds like a very distant radio playing a talk show. All I hear is the voices. It's really creepy.

Also, when I'm in that "mode" if I hear a normal sound (such as someone opening the door or something brushing against my window) it makes me startle so bad! I swear, I almost jump out of my skin and my heart starts pounding.

I'm freaked out by this. I'm also having migraines daily now and my temper is embarrassing. I go off on my husband in these psychotic rages for no reason. They last about 10 minutes and he finally calms me down.

Should I be heading to the mental hospital? Or is waiting to see a LLMD in October still a good idea?

I think with migraines you can hear things and also see things. Lyme is probably the culprit to the migraines.

Lyme can sure make you feel like you are loosing it. I hope you have a good LLMD and can get well quickly.

YES! I have this!!!
I do believe it is Lyme related because I remember once my LLMD asking if I heard voices or "things".

I told him YES...but not like voices telling me to do this and that etc and I just sort of laughed it off.

I hear usually voices that I recognize, or voices that I've heard before. I can't make out what they say usually...and it's always just a brief moment and not ongoing.

I hear music, I hear what I would assume was a TV, I hear my children, I hear voices that I've heard at the grocery store etc.

I use to have the same psychotic rages that you describe..I was honestly afraid of myself and of what I was possibly capable of. That did get a LOT better when I was on Zithromax. So I think maybe it was Bart even though I test neg. for it every time.

Don't freak too much...I'm sure we aren't the only ones and it will get better with proper treatment [Smile]

Hi Beth these links may be able to help you. What you have is do to LD and these little Ba------dancing in your brain.

Have your husband read them.

Wow! I am so glad to hear this because I constantly hear music. I have walked around the house trying to find out where it is coming from. The last couple of days, I swear my husband is calling me but it isn't him. It is really freaky. I start meds tomorrow so I hope it helps. Everyone thinks I am losing my mind. Not to mention that I am always mixing my words up. So I am not crazy?????

Yes! I sometimes hear music, too. Every once in a while I hear a ringing telephone. It's all very faint, but I hear it.

...migraines daily...

Over sensitivity to sound and light is a symptom of low magnesium.

Low magnesium can also cause headache and migraine.

Oh yeah, I've heard the phone ringing when it obviously didn't. I only recently quit the habit of having the radio blasting while I showered. That way I couldn't hear the phone so if I did "hear it", I could ignore it.

With lyme treatment and magnesium supplements, I just don't hear the weird noises anymore.

It's amazing how much lyme & co. really affects us. You would think the medical community would be having a ball with this rather than burying their head up their you know what.
