I realize that when we are very sick and looking for help, we come here often. I also know that when I got better, I quit posting. Sorry.
Update time. I feel great.
Background. I was treated for Lyme and Babesia for 7 years, was on oral, Iv, Injections, back on oral and then did a final round of IV for 9 months. You name it, I probably tried it. I really feel that Tigecycline was my wonder drug. It almost killed me, but it also killed the bugs inside me.
I am a male, and almost 50' so I was 41 when I started treatment after being really sick for years. You all have lived that story, and age 48 when I really felt well. I had a lot of improvement over the years, but was not well.
Also, please make sure you are checking your hormone levels and your thyroid.both of mine were shot and this is the only thing that I am stil treating.
So, I share this to tell you, don't give up hope, you can and will get better, it just takes a long time.
With continued best wishes for your recovery.

AGuess -
Thanks for posting your success. I know for me it makes me feel so hopeful to hear others have gotten better on abx.
I am 48 and got sick 3 years ago. I am treating for lyme and babesia right now also. I have made progress then relapsed and now I am on the upswing again.
Someday, I hope to be posting my success with treatment for lyme and babesia also.

Wow... I'm happy that you are doing well. And thank your for coming back to post.
But I'm also sad to hear that it took you 7 years! I have been on meds since May 2010 and I'm far from the finish line. I can't even think about losing more years to this insidious disease!! I NEED to get well!

How long were you on Tigecycline and what was the dosage. I see also it is used for skin infections which I have many ACA plus the works. Is there any sun sensitivity connected with Tigecycline. A European dr. from Hungary has tigecycline mentioned as one of his treatments. Were you terrible while you were on it then slowly got better..like did it have a lot of side effects. Thank you.

Thank you for coming back and giving us an update. I have been on treatment for almost 5 years and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm still on treatment, but I've been dropping a med a month and should be finished the end of Sept. and will see how my body can fight and hold up on its own. Hearing your success gives hope.
I hope things continue to go well for you.

AGuess, Thanks for coming back and letting us know. I'm so glad for you.
Your particular story is especially inspiring for those of us who have been in treatment for a long time. I just passed the 5 year mark. I had been sick for decades. I've had slow steady improvement with lots of bumps along the way. Your story gives me hope that I may someday reach remission.
