Hi All I'm kind of new to this and was wondering if you guys could help me with my test results.

First, I have had Lyme 4 different times. Because of my job and where I live, tick bites are pretty common. I have tested positive on the Western Blot all 4 times.

This time my DR printed out the results and I don't really understand all of it. Here are the bands that were reactive:
23 IgM
39 IgG
39 IgM
41 IgG
41 IgM

These were from July 1st, I had been feeling ill since early May. After 5 weeks on ABX and 2 weeks off ABX I'm still achy, stiff and extremely tired all the time.

Also, Should I go for another round of Doxy even though Doxy made me feel worse than I do right now?

I'm so confused about what to do. I hate the ABX side effects, but don't want to turn chronic either.

I also have a really bad yeast situation which has been going on for years, severly aggrivated by the ABX.

Please Help

Hi Lisa:

I think you should see a MD who is Lyme literate. Doxy will not take care of the cyst form of the disease.

The results indicate exposure to the Lyme bacteria and with the IgM one would think its recent exposure.

Any antibiotic given for lyme will make you herx .. make you feel worse before you feel better.

Find an LLMD because it sounds like you were never adequately treated. (assuming that all you've ever had was doxy??)

Read this:

Are you really from Old Lyme?

Dang, that's harsh.

Thanks for the info so far,

Here's more to the saga! I had Lyme the first time when I was 10 years old, then again at 25, then again at 31, now finally at 36. All of these were seperate tick bite occurrences, with a bulls eye rash EXCEPT this current one. I do not remember the type of ABX I was given previously, nor do I remember the duration of treatment being any longer than a few weeks.

I was bitten 4 times this spring and never got a rash, but all the other physical/mental symptoms are the same as when I had it before.

Beginning in July I was on Doxy 3 wks for Lyme. Also tested negative for co-infections. Then right after that Erythromycin for 5 days for sinus infection. Then right after that Cipro, Prednisone, Nasonex, Ventolin, & Hydrocodone for only 3 days for bronchitis but discontinued due to drug interaction migraine complications.

I think I will go back on Doxy another round, despite the blistering skin yeast rash, nausea, buzzing, dizziness and shaking, just to be sure this thing is really kicked.

Maybe I'll wait another week or so to let the weather cool off some before covering up head to toe again, and to get a few more paychecks under my belt.

Make sure you take a good pro biotic with the anti biotic. The abx kills good and bad bacteria which allows yeast to grow...that is why the abx is aggravating your yeast problem.

It will also help with nausea from the abx.

You could also have your doc do a candida blood test ( which is an over growth of yeast in the body).

There are many diets to help this problem....I take ther boitic complete by klair labs but there are other posts on here with other good recommendations also.

Thanks JLS,

I will check into the candida blood test.

I have been doing the probiotic dance for years and have trippled my intake since starting the abx.

It did not help with the abx nausea since the time spacing required between Doxy doses on an empty stomach and taking suppliments (there was a 2 hr, window before/after meals/doses when I could take vitamins, probiotics and food). So most of my waking hours were spent feeling queasy anyway. I did only get 2 actual yeast rashes during that time though which is pretty good for me considering it is summer and I was sweating profusely.
