Does anyone know if this goes away with time? Thanks.

It kill my stomach also! Hope we get some answers on how to avoid this problem. I was taking (trying) them without crushing them until read a couple days ago that this was the best way.
But it seem like that would be even more painful. Anyway I would love to take them. Good source of protein also.

Take more. Chlorella can mobilize metals and toxins. If you don't take enough you won't bind much.

I was taking 40 tabs a day. I read that it's a side effect, just wondering if it stops after a while.

I had trouble with it too, upper gi burning. I can take charcoal or apple pectin okay though.

Some people have a very hard time digesting it. Try a digestive enzyme before. I find it much simpler to let is dissolve in water and then drink it.

Any suggestions for the enzyme, because I really want to be able to take this stuff.

It took me very long to get used to chlorella too. Are you trying the pyrenoidosa or the vulgaris? Vulgaris is easier to digest.
my husband complained of chlorella too, it caused him loose stools for months... He didn't like it. Now he can take it like candy, and feels good while on chlorella.
Some people can be allergic to it (like for everything), but I guess mostly react because of cleansing effect or because it is harder to digest, when the GI tract is not healthy.
Like people that can't eat raw green leaves (raw spinach, for example).
I only could stomach clhorella after I took literally 2 handfulls of chlorella, literally hundreds of pills at once! Forced by my naturopath. Since that day, I could stomach it and loved it.
The theory behind was that only a certain amount will move out toxins more than stir them around.
I took about 15-30 each time, many times a day, during lyme to keep herxes low.
Dr K is swearing nwo by microsilica as a much more powerful binder. It costs a fortune though, but I didn't see many complaints about it.
If you have the budget, I would try it first as it is MUCH more potent (according to him), less side effects. And then, start on chlorella again? Just a suggestion.

Another tip is the broken cell chlorella. I never tried, but who knows it is even easier to digest?
Posted by RC1 (Member # 31923) on :
I have the pyrenoidosa, so wow, take a whole bunch like that then you can tolerate it. That is wild! I am afraid to try it because one night it had me up all night the stomach pain was so bad! Maybe I ought to get the micro silica. Thanks a lot for the advice :-)

Interesting...the same thing happened to me.. it killed my stomach and it actually lasted for a couple of days!
I've heard the chlorella vulgaris is easier to digest, but not as effective at binding.

My stomach is still killing me and the last time I took it was two days ago. I went back to charcoal for the time being. I was just hoping there was some trade secret out there to help to tolerate it.

It's a good idea to be aware of all that chlorella does. Be sure you study this above.
Have you treated parasites? The life ones live in the small intestines. The dead ones live in the Large Intestines/colon. They go for the good food - not the left overs.
You could try the CGF Chlorella (chlorella growth factor) or, as said above, Chlorella vulgaris.
Or try Standard Process Multizyme following chlorella, if chlorella seems to constipate.
Cholestepure, Apple Pectin, Chitosan, Betasitosterol, Cholestyramine --- other binders.
My favorite has become Microsilica for capturing heavy metals, even though it is still very expensive. But I simply don't want to meet the metals over and over again. After AI, I am painlessly releasing toxic metals, especally lead from the long bones, after years of detoxing toxic metals.
Would highly recommend learning some form of energetic testing to be able to help yourself when no one is available. My tensor saves my day and I will never be without one. You would easily find out whether your body is receptive for chlorella, type of, etc. or other binders.
Take care.

Gigi to the rescue again! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. What I got from reading the link is that I am probably taking too much, and if I take it with cellulase it will help with the digesting. Maybe I'll try taking it with food too. I haven't been getting symptoms since taking it so I don't think it's metals? I don't know. This is some great stuff and I really want to make it work for me.

I have not had a problem with Chlorella. And I only take 10 a day,30 min before lunch.
Energy testing,my body loves it.
When I went through hell doing KPU. Micro Silica was a life saver.
I also take Cholestepure (less side effects than Cholestramine) Bio pure green clay,Nano chitosan and more. Not all every day,I mix it up.
I also did AI for way over a yr.

I was tld by dr K's team to only take a couple of chlorella half hour before meals. You seem to be taking too much to start off with?
I am up to 3 before each meal and if my stomach is ok I take them before bed so they work while sleeping. Why are you taking 40 a day?
I also use charcoal for binding and when my stomach gets upset.
Posted by RC1 (Member # 31923) on :
Annier thanks for replying. I read in one of Dr. K's last speaking engagements to take up to 60 a day.
I have been going really heavy on the binders for the last few months because it made a world of difference in how I feel.
I am sure I started out with too much, I'm feeling a lot better today :-)
