Samento is making one of my knees ache like crazy, same location as a very old injury. I know Lyme can hit the joints, and I know this could be a herx.

The strange thing is, I've NEVER herxed in this place before despite dozens of herbals and abx.

And I know that Cat's Claw (samento) is a similar substance as the quinolones which messed up my achilles tendon. So perhaps my aching knee is a side effect?

I think we have to be careful, we can't blame EVERYTHING on herxing. These things to have side effects.

I'm looking for any input, experiences, wisdom, etc.

Thanks.

When my daughter started Samento, her whole body ached so bad she had to stop for a week. I would say it's a herx. I have also heard others who have had similar experiences with it.

I think it's strong stuff that needs to be taken with that in mind. Her mistake was starting at too high of a dose.

lulu,

That's interesting thanks. Normally when I herx, my quads hurt, bottom of feet hurt, etc. This time those DON'T hurt but my joints DO - in a very "non-lyme" way. I'm just a little concerned.....

I hurt all over in my joints when I took cats claw. This was powerful, very much SYSTEMIC and goes every where.

I know I had lyme in many joints BECAUSE of herxes. Sometimes, places I never got symptoms ached after cats claw, then got weak and finally got better.

Cats claw is extremely powerful. Many MANY people from LN already reported being YEARS on antibiotics of all sorts but NEVER herxing as bad as with cats claw.

if it was an allergy or bad reaction, you would usually feel on your organs (liver, kidney, GI tract) or on skin, mouth, etc. The joint pains look for me simply a herx. Take binders to improve. Buhner's protocol lacks binders.

I restarted cat's claw earlier this week and noticed that my knees were aching too. It's usually my leg muscles that hurt, not the joints, so maybe it is the cat's claw.

Knees are better today, but as I mentioned in an earlier post, my ears are ringing like crazy. Oh the joys of Lyme!

When I started Samento, I had a dull ache in my knees and in my other joints. I would say it's a herx you are experiencing.

We all started at 1 drop per day and worked up to 10 twice daily. It is very powerful and my practitioner cured her lyme with Samento, Cumanda, Burbur and grapefruit seed extract. My family is getting cured from it as well, one by one.

Oh - I forgot to mention, lyme tends to go to injuries, so it makes sense that you would have more pain in that area due to the higher level of spirochetes there.
