I went to a dr that was recommended (thank you) last week. He didn't seem very concerned about me having Lyme, and kept pushing towards going back to the neuro.

I have been having neuro symptoms and weakness/extreme fatigue/headaches, etc for 2 years now and all previous tests (not just Lyme, but all tests) have been negative.

He didn't want to do further testing, but put me on a six week course of doxycycline and told me to come back and see how I feel.

I have felt like death for four days. I have heard that is a good sign.

I am wondering how long will this last and if I do feel better in six weeks, whats normally done after that?

looking for the light at the end of the tunnel....

thanks!

I just started doxycycline after being sick for a year. I too wish I could get an idea of how long this initial herx will last, but it seems there are no definite answers. I would imagine you would want to treat until symptoms are gone but I'm not sure. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will respond as well.

I haven't started treatment yet, but that sounds like a herx to me. I would take it as a good sign!

It's hard to say how long it will last, but I have read that epsom salts and peroxide "detox" baths help.

I think the general protocol is to treat 1-2 months after all symptoms are gone.

It worries me a little that the doc hasn't tested you for co-infections, though.

Depends upon how long you've been ill. You may herx for days on end or for months on end.

Let's pray yours will only be days!
