I have low adrenal function in the morning. I was wondering if any of you have taken cortisol and expereinced positive results in symptoms?
And if yes, what symptoms did it help.

Thank you!

I was taking Cortef for low adrenals for about 4 months. No difference at all, and it was the added wory of taking a steroid. I belive ther are other ways to support the immune system.

My LLMD recommends Isocort. I purchase it from the endfatigue website.

I cut the pill in half, because I think it's potent. One pill is equivalent to 2.5 gm of cortef, I think.

It will give you energy. I don't take it after 2pm.

lymeboy, I think low dose steroids are fine and helpful to your recovery, it's the high dose that supress the immune system that we need to avoid, don't worry unecessarily, enough stress already for all of us - so sorry

see

it is discussed twice on the DVDs

My son took a product by Researched Nutritionals called adrenal support. His cortisol returned to norm after being very low. He only took that.

This topic has come up a million times. There are plenty of supplements that work and don't have the problems associated even with low dose Cortef.

Adrecor is one of them.

Adrenal Essence another and yes Isocort, too.

Here is one I have found to be helpful to lower cortisol levels:

Here are some helpful links:

Scroll down to the article that's entitled Dietary Supplements.

In general B vitamans, Siberian ginseng, Rhodiola, Cordyceps, Holy Basil, aswagandha, astagalus and licorice are some of the best supplements for adrenal dysfunction and there are many formula that contain these ingredients.
