I just don't understand how on the Labcorp lyme western blot that I could show positive for only IgM P23 (Osp C)? Is this positive for lyme? Should I get the Igenex tests? What are the chances of a false positive on a western blot?
Thanks for any input.

False positives are very rare. Igenex is indeed the best Western Blot as they test for all possible bands.
Band 23 is specific for Lyme. (only lyme can cause it)
SEE the Western Blot explanation in this link .. I posted the whole link as there is info there that may also help you.
My daughter was diagnosed based on the single reactive 23 band on a Quest WB.
Later had Igenix test which showed other bands, but still not CDC positive. (plus I think the doctor may have screwed up the test by the way it was sent. But that's another story!)
The doctors we have seen have concurred that 23 is enough, along with symptoms, to diagnose.

Given all my symptoms, it just seems too coincidental. I just didn't know if there were any false-positive causes I should look into before I start paying out of pocket for a LLMD?

You could get your PCP to sign off on a test by Igenex. They at least test for all possible bands.

If you have symptoms along with IgM 23 positive you Lyme. If no symptoms, your body may be still fighting it OK.
If symptoms get to an LLMD ASAP.
Don't waste more money now on more tests... Save $$$ for later when you will need it more. Maybe a CD-57 test will help show if Lyme is beating up your immune system.
