I posted last month about a recent cat attack I suffered and subsequent infections.

I was diagnosed with probable Lyme in 2009 and have enjoyed a fairly complete recovery since then.

I suffered a second tick bite related infection this spring that took me 6 weeks to recover from.

Then had a severe bladder infection that took me 3 weeks to get over.

Then last month one of our cats went off the deep end and attacked me. Severe bite to my hand and deep scratches to my arm.

Hand became infected almost immediately and I went on antibiotics.

4 weeks later, symptoms exacerbated with axillary lymph node tenderness, low grade temp and flu symptoms. Next came low back pain and fatigue.

I went to the doctor yesterday and after doing an evaluation said that it sounds as though I have a cat scratch infection/fever type of infection and put me 1000 mg of Tetracycline for two weeks.

He will re-evaluate me then.

I'm bummed.

I also had some severe gastritis to top it off, probably also infection related.

I thought I had escaped Bart.

I questioned the doctor and he admitted that my previous Lyme is making me more susceptible to co-infections now because my resistance is low.

I try to do everything right, eat healthy, watch my sugars and carbs, exercise, drink water like a fiend, but I'm at a loss as to what else to do to hasten my recovery from this infection and not get another one again down the line.

I know Bart and Lyme go hand in hand and I seem to be over the worst of it but it keeps hanging on and frankly I'm getting tired of herxing.

Do I need to start the lemon water again to detox?

Do I need to go back on CatsClaw?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My brother-in-law got attacked by a cat and he also got cat scratch fever(bartonella). He treated with antibiotics and was fine. Not sure how long he treated, but it wasn't a long time. Maybe just a couple of weeks.

From your lips to God's ears, Sutherngrl!

I'm about two weeks into this now and already tired of it.
