The last week of July I got incredibly sick. I was finally diagnosed 18 days later and given two weeks (14 days) of doxycycline. Was that long enough? What would symptoms of a relapse be? I started running a temp yesterday, aches in my back, knees, and ankles, headache, loss of appetite and very fatigued; I went to bed at 8:00 p.m. (very unusual, normal bedtime is 10-10:30).

Two weeks of doxy is not enough. You should see a LLMD as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the longer it will take to get you well. Don't waste time with doctors that have no idea what they are dealing with or how to properly treat it.

^ I completley agree with nefferdun

Not only is two weeks not enough , but the strengh of the doxy that they pescribe you is barely even HALF of what you need to take in order to successfully kill out the lyme.

Seeing a LLMD is your only way of getting help. I went thru a similar thing as you. tested pos to lyme. 2 years ago. was given low dose doxy for 6 months and it still didnt kill out the lyme. Turns out I've probably had lyme for YEARS AND YEARS. im 24 and I think ive had it since I was like 12 at least

Go to SEEEKING A DOCTOR and they will help you find a doc!

Sorry to say, but I have yet to meet a Pennsylvanian who ONLY had lyme.

Please find an LLMD. For referrals, post here on "Seeking" or call the number given at www.lymepa.org (610-388-7333).
