Hi,

Am going to start my son on Resveratrol (Japanese Knotweed). Has anyone taken it, which one, how much?
Are you seeing improvement, do you think it works?

Sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure I get the best one. Adult dosage is fine.

Currently taking bicillin shots, rifampin, zithromax.

I emailed Dr. Buhnen and he wrote back with the herbs to give my son for his symptoms, Japanese Knotweed being #1.

Any help is very much appreciated
thanks

Both my two kids & myself have been doing Buhner Protocol for a lil over a month now.

So far i feel it is working. Herxing a lot. Not seen any improvements yet but I've read in Chronic cases it takes 6 weeks to 3 month to start seeing them. Depending on how intense the infection is.

We use Polygonum Cuspidatum I get it from
1 Chinese Herbs

http://www.1stchineseherbs.com/

I get the powder form & encapsulate them myself. Then for my daughter who is 8 and won't swallow pills I get the Knotweed from Woodland Essence

http://www.woodlandessence.com/

Until the Knotweed Tincture I am making is ready. My 13 yr old & I take the capsules. Start slow & ramp up to see how he reacts to it.

Have you been over to the The Buhner Lyme Healing site? Here is the link to that.

Hope this helps. Good luck & let me know how it is working for him.

Blessings,
Yemaya

I loved Resveratrol. Just, if you are giving it to your son, you might want to watch out for the versions containing red wine powder. I noticed they gave me a little buzz on.

I use resveratrol and like it.
I get mine from RevGenetics. I get the X500, I tried the micronized but it seemed too much for me. Sent me into a kinda herx.

Be careful - there are a lot of resveratrol scams out there and products that contain harmful fillers.
Here is a website about resveratrol. This is not a marketing site, just info. (They do make some suggestions, but don't sell anything)

Be careful with the Japanese Knotweed...it caused me to herx so severely that I was hospitalized unable to swallow anything (could not eat or drink or even swallow my own saliva).

I know not everyone has such a violent response to this herb - it is a good herb and I wish I could take it because of all the good things it does, but I just wanted to point out that just because it is an herb doesn't mean it can't trigger severe herxing...

Yes, it can cause severe herxes. I wouldn't start with the supplement but with whole herb, in decoctions and very low dose. Ramp up slow and go backwards if herxes are strong.

I don't know if it's his current recommendation, but Buhner recommends Source Naturals brand in his book.

Hi! I take Japanese Knotweed, and would like to point out that it is not just the resveratrol in it that works. There are several other phytochemicals contained in Knotweed that are not available in other sources of resveratrol.

Japanese Knotweed is unique in that these other phytochemicals (sorry, I can't remember what they are called) really help with Lyme that is in the brain and central nervous system. It helps with brain fog, inflammation in the brain and central nervous system, mood swings or worse.

It has really helped me. I use the whole powdered herb from 1st Chinese Herbs, and I take one teaspoon three time per day. I just mix it in water and swallow it whole. I've learned to swallow herbs this way no matter how bitter. It is much more economical.

Knotweed also protects endothelial cells which Lyme and other co-infections like to penetrate to do their dirty work. Also Japanese Knotweed has proved to be active against another type of spirochete by killing it, so perhaps it will kill Lyme. (According to research in Buhner's Healing Lyme book.)

Go slow and gradually build up the dose.
