A friend had a tick bite in July. No bullseye, but treated anyway with about 6 weeks of doxy-- 400 mg a day, I think.

Now, all of a sudden "lower back strain" and a lot of pain.

Could this be a first symptom? He hasn't had a Lyme test... but I'm thinking of suggesting it.

Any thoughts?

No definitely something muscle or nerve related. The doctor gave him a prescription... not sure what.

I hope it's not steroids.
