I think that bartonella is a big part of my problem. I have thought it all along, as I am mostly/all neuro. Cipro seemed to help...I was improving while on it. It was the only drug that rendered me ANY improvement what-so-ever. But...I got tendonitis in both Achilles tendons from it and my LLMD will not put me back on any fluoroquinolones because of the fear that it will return.

I have also tried rifampin. While it didn't really help at all, I can't take that either due to it always skyrocketing my liver enzymes. Am I out of options to hit bart? My LLMD gave me A-Bart at my last appointment and will be trying that shortly...

I am worried that I am out of options...

Thanks all!

What about Factive? A quinolone, yes. But newer and with less side effects. Most take it 4 days on 3 off.

Else there are the heavy duty mycins (clindamycin?) Which are very hard on the ears, etc.

I've heard that minocycline and zith together can have some impact on bartonella.. Not 100% positive if that's true, but I've heard it.

Were you taking tons of milk thistle while on Rifampin before?

Yes, my doctor uses minocycline with azith.

Julie - Yes, I was. But...perhaps not enough...but...the rifampin wasn't really helping anyway. The only thing that has even remotely caused me any improvement what-so-ever, even if ever so minor, was cipro.

Lala - Did that combo work?

ABart is an herbal product but works well.

A-Bart helped tremendously to eliminate bartonella symptoms. It took about 3 months and I was herxing like hell in the beginning.

Does it eradicate bartonella completely? who knows,
I was previously on Cipro for 6 months and thought my bartonella was gone, but it came back after I've treated babesia.

My rife machine works on my Bart.

My PE-1 works on my Bart.

There are threads here for both of those.

Thank heavens we have these options! I would refuse to take those drugs you named. There ARE OTHER OPTIONS , THANK GOODNESS!
