I was having trouble sleeping now. I would fall asleep then wake up many times throughout the night.
So now all I think about is not sleeping or waking up I dread night time and going to sleep.
My LLMD perscribed Lunesta It didnt help.
she also gave me a low dose of xanax.
So I take teh xanax it knocks me out.
If I take it at 945 Im up at 1:30 then up and down all night hard to fall back to sleep.
Anyone have any suggestions??

plain Tylenol helps me. I take my benzo.. 3 times a days. Last one at bedtime. Helps so much. I only take the Tylenol in the middle of the night if I wake and can't fall back to sleep. It works. Warm milk has benefits tool

I take 2/3 pill of Ambien when I go to bed. When I wake up in the night, I take the other 1/3. Works really well. You could also try that with Xanax.
1/2 and 1/2 often works too

My LLMD doesn't like Ambien or Lunesta because he said you never achieve rem sleep. I was taking Lunesta when I first saw him.
He likes to use the anti seizure drugs or ativan to help with sleep. I didn't want to use those drugs but, I am sleeping much better.
I take 1 mg Klonipin, 25 mg lamictal and 1 mg ativan at bedtime and I sleep very well. Might be worth asking your doctor about it.

I take Ambien CR for my Fibro flares and it works great. Especially is you get the CR type. It seems to be more effective for achieving the deep sleep. I always wake up refreshed even if I only got 6 hours of sleep it seems to be a more restorative sleep?
Sometimes a combination or Elavil and Hydroxyzine can help with sleep too. They don't have the same addictive nature that the Ambien can have so they are more often prescribed.

How about something natural? Tryptophan helped me.

I really feel for for you. I hate it when I cannot sleep and I have suffered insomnia most of my life. I think bart is the worst for causing sleep disturbances but the medications will also contribute to it.
Zhang's Herbsom helped for two years. I got it from heparo.com. It has the herb corydallis root which I used to be able to find online at a cheaper price but not any more.
When that did not work I used a very small amount of seroquel but I always had a hang over the next morning. I can't take sleeping drugs like Ambien.
Although LDN initially causes insomnia and that was true for me, I switched to taking it in the morning and then I could sleep very well on it. I was surprised when this happened.
I had to quit it for other reasons and I hope to go back on it if the PE-1 does not do the job completely. I am still sleeping well. Knock on wood!

L-Tryptophan is the only thing that helps me sleep through the night.
Each person has a different tolerance level, so you should start with one capsule and add one each night until you find your dose.
Taking L-Tyrosine and MSM during the day and L-Tryptophan at night has really helped me sleep well and have some energy during the day.
You have to do the same with the L-Tyrosine - add one each day until you find your dose.
My LLMD recommends at least 6000 mg of MSM each day.
Prescription sleep meds didn't help me. I should say, they helped me fall asleep, but not stay asleep.

My daughter takes 100mg of 5-HTP, two Neurtontin, and then if she still can't fall asleep she will take benadryl. The combo usually does the trick.
