I am in shock as I write this. I just got my 4 year olds Igenex test back.

It is positive! I can't believe it. I know so many of you have been in the same situation.

I was sick when I was pregnant and he had breathing problems and symptoms of sepsis when he was born.

I found out I had Lyme and now my worst fear is confirmed.

My Lyme MD ran the test for me but she doesn't treat children. I am so sick and have lost my job.

I am so scared of what is coming. My poor baby.

I have no advice for you, just wanted to say i am so sorry for the news. I just couldnt imagine. I have a 4 and 6 year old sons...

I do jave a question though, what made u get the test done for him? Its possible that i could have had lyme while pregnant with both of them. I was bit about 6 years ago but didnt find out i had lyme until about 3 years ago.

Again i am so sorry and will pray for u and ur baby boy.

I have been considering having my children check also.

My 12 year old used to fight me to go to bed, then rise before God every morning and had been labeled ADHD.

He now puts himself to bed an hour or more before bedtime and still is having difficulty getting up in the morning for school.

Doctors changed his ADHD diagnosis to Bi-polar and sent us on our way.

Never mentioning why he is also complaining of Extreme growing pains and having worsen eye sight and worsening concentration issues.

How do you even approach a regular MD on this subject? I was poo pooed, with "just because you have it, doesn't mean everyone does." "You can't give it to your family."

My doctor pretty much insisted on us having it done.

She is very aware that gesational lyme is real and should be taken very seriously.

Hope-you should have him checked!

My mom is wondering if maybe she gave it to all four of her kids.

I had terrible "growing pains" learning dificulty and have had a sleep disorder since I was around 10.

My brother is "bipolar" and my sister is having eye sight problems. We are all under 31.

I am very sad that my son is positive but can find some peace in knowing that he will not have to strugle through life like me and my siblings have.

Can you take him to a lyme specialist?

Sorry about all the spelling errors. Just a little shaken.

There is a Lyme ND for children in CT if that would help. I do not know him but was given the info from my MD.

I would say if your kid has symptoms, get them checked. If they have lyme, better to treat them now then to wait until they can't walk or function.

Look up the symptoms for children. They are different than they are for adults. They are in the links at the beginning.

Good luck.

Does your son have symptoms? Most docs won't treat unless the patient has symptoms. Even if the test is positive

Your son sounds like my son at 11. The extreme pain, going to bed early, not getting up, and the eye sight! I bet he is having trouble reading and retaining too.

I heard the same thing from doctors when my son was sick and I wanted a Lyme test. They thought I was nuts and wouldn't sign off on a Western Blot.

Please have a professional check your home for toxic mold. I found this company to be very trustworthy (and I have interviewed dozens)

http://www.naturallythebest.com

My son spent 9 months sicker than sick. We had one IDSA duck try to put him in a pshyche ward.

We found out we had toxic mold in our walls behind the tub and closest to his bedroom. We got out of that house on April 16th of this year and 4 days later he was playing badmitten for 15 or 20 minutes. Every day, his health got better. 6 months lather, he is 100% my son again! He is not sick at all. Mold can make you very sick and it can manifest in different ways for everyone. Some people will not get sick at all. Only 24% of people will get very, very sick.

By any chance, did your son have the Tdap booster recently? or just before he started having symptoms? Just asking because my son and your son are about the same age and my son got sick a short time after that shot.

Good luck. I hope your son and you are better soon. Please, if you do leave, do what we did. Leave with nothing but a few clothes and go to the laudromat. Wash the clothes with a cup of ammonia. Put the clothes in NEW bags that did not come from your home. Then go to a safe place. Give yourself a week to two weeks to see if you have improvement. If health improves, then figure out what to do with all your stuff, your home, etc.

I have discovered that no material possession is worth our health.

Spindle - it's good to know that they have it, for sure. I think my son was born with Lyme.

I was finally tested in April of this year and I have Lyme and Bartonella... so do both of my children.

Strangely enough, so does the dog. All in the family... lol.

We all lived in a home that had toxic mold and that suppresses your immune system.

Hi my friend!! According to many LLMD's children do better than adults with treatment. Kids don't tend to have biofilms formed yet and thier blood circulation is better.

I know this is hard and scary and sad. But, it is good you know now and don't wait.

BTW- you will find an LLMD to treat him. Mine are treating my 2 year old and his test isn't even positive. He has some positive bands and was VERY symptomatic. You can go back to the place you were treated before and request a Dr for him.

I'm taking my son to daycare today and I'll call you when I get home.
