Is anyone with Medicare part D able to get Tindamax covered?
Humana tells me the problem is Medicare can't come to an agreement with manufacturer.
In my Humana book it shows "covered" Tier 3
They will not cover for me. If anyone is covering this via Medicare, a different plan, I would enroll so it would be covered.
Flagyl is covered but I can't tolerate.
Is there any other "cyst busters"?

Isn't there still a generic "tinidazole?"

They tell me their is only 1 manufacturer
Tindamax/tinidazole - it
shows as covered in Humanas book but when I go pick
it up I get a different story.

I looked at Humanas website just now and they have
switched it from a Tier 3 covered drug to uncovered
drug
(UGH)

Call some compounding Pharmacies and see what it would cost to compound Tinidazole. It might not be as expensive as you think.

abxnomore, I am going to be able to get Tinidazole for less
than my Humana Tier III "copay" through the
compounded pharmacy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank-you so much

You are very welcome. I have mentioned this several times on other posts but no one has listened.
I'm so happy to hear this. Good luck!

I even get my compounded natural thyroid meds for less and it has no filler or additives.

Sure hope this works for me tomorrow--Medicare doesn't cover my Tindamax script either.
Have three compounding pharmacies to call!

All the pharmacies informed me that the patent on Tindamax has not run out yet, so in the USA, there IS NO AVAILABLE GENERIC for it yet.
I have Silverscript coverage (with Medicare) so I called them and they said I could attempt a Fast Appeal and would have my answer within 5-7 days. They said if the doctor fills out the exception form and faxes it to them, they usually fill it. Have had to do this once before for Sporanox (which costs about $800).
