I am on Cefuroxime (Ceftin), Metronidazol (Flagyl), & Azithromycin (Zithromax)since July 25.
My left hip, I think it is the tendon, has gotten increasingly more painful & sore.
Does anyone know if these massive doses of ABX can cause your tendon to get sore??
Maybe it's just that I never get any restorative sleep.

I had problems with my hip(s) hurting at night. I don't remember what meds I was on.
As my memory is still in bits and pieces...what I remember is it was lyme and co settling in for a visit.
It comes and goes with me now. But yours is just one side.
Can you call your doc?

I don't think its the abx causing it. Probably inflammation from the die-off. Flagyl can cause huge die-off (cyst buster) or, like dogs andcats said, lyme loves the joints. Detox, detox, detox!!
Feel better!!

Dogsandcats...
My doctor is 3 hours away, so I don't see him very often, but I did ask him the last time I saw him 6 weeks ago, & he said he thought it may be an old hiking/trail running injury. The thing is, I'm not that old & it never gets better & seems to have gotten worse on my ABX.
Supposedly, I don't have Bart nor Babesia (according to my IGeneX tests). I do have 7 positive IgM Lyme bands & 2 positive IgG Lyme bands, & a positive PCR test for the Lyme DNA.
I'm thinking I have tons of toxins built up in me now, from shedding Lyme bacteria. My doctor only has me on ABX, so I'm going to see a Naturopath doctor in 2 weeks, to see what I can do to detox my body. Maybe I will try that Rife machine, too.
I do sleep on my left side, which is the hip that always hurts. I also need to get a Gaba test, to see if I have any Gaba left in me, since I really have not gotten any quality sleep since 1999 which is probably why my hip is deteriorating!
Thank You for your reply Dogsandcats

You're right, I've done nothing to detox, after I've been taking all these ABX, so I've scheduled w/ a new doctor, a Naturopath, who is going to focus on that.
You're right about the inflammation, too. I probably did sort of injure my hip tendon from jogging on trails, and now it is all inflamed & won't heal cuz of the stupid Lyme!
I can't wait to see my new Naturopath in 2 weeks!!!!
Thank you so much for your helpful advice, imagine2

Lyme frequently goes to the site of old injuries.

My hubby uses a pillow between the knees for hip pain. Doesn't solve it = but may help.
Are you able to soak in an Epsom bath?

I slept much better when I began using a memory foam pad on the bed.

I 2nd the memory foam. It really helped my hips even before I knew I had Lyme. A good massage therapist can really help loosen your hips. And rolling on a tennis ball can help too.
I do know one of the side effects of Doxy are muscle and joint flares.
I know it's controversial, but ambien changed my life. I haven't ever slept well. But with ambien I do. And my muscles feel so much better.

It could be attacking Lyme there.
Quinolones can cause tendon damage, but you aren't taking any.

Arnica gel, which you can get at the health food store, is good for some relief.
It's not a cure-all but is effective for pain. It smells funny, but that dissipates after you rub it in.
A chiropractor told me that athletes use it for sore spots.
