You can expect more effective lyme treatment.
One antibiotic like you were taking won't work on lyme as well as 2.
So, with this addition, you may have a herx reaction. That could occur starting the second or third day on zith. If you get a rash, that would be an allergy to zith.
Zith is not generally used for bart that I know of except in children because they cannot take levaquin which is the drug of choice for treating bart in adults.
See the following quotes from Burrascano:
"COMBINATION THERAPY Treatment of chronic Lyme usually requires combinations of antibiotics. There are four reasons for this: 1. TWO COMPARTMENTS- Bb can be found in both the fluid and the tissue compartments, yet no single antibiotic currently used to treat Bb infections will be effective in both compartments. This is one reason for the need to use combination therapy in the more ill patient. A logical combination might use, for example, azithromycin plus a penicillin." (page 12)
Under heading of bartonella-like organism (BLO):
"The drug of choice to treat BLO is levofloxacin." (page 24)
Then, after discussing the use of levaquin to treat bartonella:
"Unfortunately, levofloxacin and drugs in this family cannot be given to those under the age of 18, so other alternatives, such as azithromycin, are used in children." (page 25)
I know lots of feet hurt here. BUT Plenty of us are in bed a lot.
So when you sleep your feet are kinda stretched out.....and in the morning can really hurt.
I;ve been sick so long ,but I'm pretty sure this happened to me just before. The doctor made up a half cast for each foot, so that it was in walking position, bent , when asleep. I kept it on with an ace bandage for a few nights.
More often than not it helped , a lot..
If you get up in middle of night, this thing is on you, so you have to be careful.
Just take it off what .ever hour you get up ,for how ever long.
He re-made mine twice, and then of course moved.
Not much material or time.
Goofy, but just a thought. And yes I get the burning, tingles ,other pain etc. This just helped. Nonna
