My daughter has been complaining of feeling like she "cannot yawn." I guess this would be the "air hunger. . . ."

Anybody who does not believe there is chronic Lyme, need only to live with someone who does--one by one she goes through all the symptoms!! ugh. . . I know this can be caused by Babesia, but what can you do about it?? She is about to begin Amoxi and Augmentin, but we are headed to Hansa in January, so will have to stop abx for that.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!!

Was Hansa the on site treatment center??

I know you'll be busy but please keep us posted.

Do you want to change her ABX, even now ,before you leave..

I get it two different was.. True gasp for air and a shortness of breath when talking or if I've moved to much. On the second one I say goodbye/stop talking . But the first just happens and then goes away for a while/days.

Here's hoping this treatment heals your daughter.

This is also a Lyme symptom, doesn't have to necessarily be babesia. This was one of my first symptoms when I got bitten in 1970. This was probably one of my ONLY symptoms for 38 years. I would have bouts of air hunger a few times a year that lasted for 1-2 weeks. I remember my mother calling the MD back in 1970 who said it was all in my head. I have been on treatment for 8 months and this symptom has pretty much gone away.

Because of our dauthers fatigue we never noticed the air hunger.

Then at our 1st LLMD appointment Dr. J had her hop to one end of his office and back. She didn't make it 10 feet before gasping for breath.

She also had sleep apnea.

Another check Dr. J did was have her walk heel to toe. Showed how bad her balance was.

We are now in 18 of treatment and she is much better but she didn't have a good few months start with the meds.

PS - better but not completely over the lyme. Babs it appears so but Lyme still bone pain and occasional joint swelling.
