My husband has lyme & co, it is possible i do too. We have an 18 month old. I am terrified he might have it from me.
We have been lucky that his development so far is on target, although he does seem to have some mild differences in sensory processing. This i have mostly attributed to the fact that i also had sensory differences as a child too.
My question is, what do we do now?
For one, his 18 month shots are coming up quick. We were working on a slightly reduced/ spaced out schedule, but now i am seriously not thrilled at the idea of subjecting his immune system to multiple shots at once....
Do people get their kids tested for lyme even if they seem "normal"?
Do people wait for symptoms to start & then look into it?
I had no abx during pregnancy and also breastfed him for 10 months, so it seems there is a high chance hes been exposed to it if i do have it.
I dont want to see my little boys life destroyed by this bug like it has done to his father. Any suggestions for how to work against that are appreciated. Thanks

I would suggest you have your baby's blood tested through Igenix. Symptoms can either come later or be so sneaky that they go unrecognized. You need some peace of mind on this.
Don't blame yourself. Learn all you can. Come here and post questions.

We tested two non symptomatic family members. Both had congenital Lyme. We decided to treat and when we looked harder there were symptoms. Labs proved infection.
Lyme was like ticking time bomb with my youngest and once puberty hit it was all down hill until bedridden. We of course didn't know he or I had Lyme.
Why don't you get tested first?

Lyme is sexually transmitted and can even be passed via simple fluid contact and contaminated meat handling (ex. Deer meat). �I have heard of a person who got infected from handling bodily fluids from an ALS patient years ago.
They have discovered that 7% of Mosquitos have it too, but I am sure that is more like 8-12%. �Picture this, if a non infected mosquito enters a �car and bites the infected driver. �Does not complete feeding and then bites the passenger who was previously not infected. �
Now picture this, I live in an area where there are 14 people who have been bit and some multiple times. �This is in 6 ADJACENT houses. �
Some show symptoms and others don't. �I have been a carrier for years and only was sick badly/deathly recently.
Every now and then I encounter people further into the neighborhood and so far 3 out of 5 have also gotten bit. �God only knows about the rest of the neighborhhod.
Point is that now the mosquito carriers i would imagine increases drastically.
