I take 600 mg orally twice daily as part of a protocol for Babesiosis. It has been one of the best meds for me.

Be sure to take high-quality acidophilus with any antibiotic but especially with this one. I use prescription strength VSL#3 Double-Strength.

and be sure to take s.boulardii to prevent c.diff

I took it with quinine for babesia. Oral meds. Not sure it worked, I took it a long time. Then I finished off the babesia with artemisinin and zith.

Hubby has taken both oral and IV in the past with quinine.

In my opinion IV clindamycin 3 x's per day plus quinine was one of his best babesia combos. He also tried adding IV flagyl and that brought out lots of coinfections. He did the quinine on 10 day or 21 day cycles but continued the clindamycin in between at lower doses -- 1 or 2 times per day.

If hubby still had a PICC line I would put him back on the IV clindamycin and oral quinine and probably add art to that or maybe something else.

His LLMD had hubby increase his s. boularrdi to 6 pills daily and that kept him from having any clostridia issues with the clindamycin.

The quinine caused more side effects than the clindamycin.

I did 150mg oral clindamycin 4x/day the first week, then 3x/day for a month, then 2x/day to treat my Lyme symptoms - it stopped all my fibromyalgia symptoms for five years, then it stopped working. Now I'm treating with teasel root tincture and curcumin capsules.

Yes, I think that this was one of the most helpful antibiotics that I have tried.
