Has anyone here had a test for HHV-6?

If so, which lab was used?

Would a 'standard' lab such as LabCorp be acceptable?

Which of the TWO tests is appropriate for an old/chronic infection?

Human Herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) Antibodies, IgG, Quantitative

Or

Human Herpesvirus Type 6, IgM

If you've been tested, your results, IF, you want to share? Any tx experiences and results?

If you were positive or elevated, has it been suggested that the results could correlate with neuropathic (nerve pain) symptoms or ANY other neurological dysfunction?

Just trying to educate myself and others as to whether or not the main problem is Lyme and/or other infections so as to treat properly.

Regards,

MB

For info on HHV-6 testing see: http://www.hhv-6foundation.org/patients/hhv-6-testing-for-patients

and: http://chronicfatigue.stanford.edu/infections/herpes-tests.html

I use Focus Diagnostics lab as described in the Stanford website. I've been tested for IgG, IgM and PCR. My IgG has come back "high" with a result of 1:640. That did drop significantly with valcyte treatment.

I have neurological problems but also other problems (joint pain, cardiac issues, fatigue, sleep disturbance, brain fog, etc).

Best, Timaca
