What is the difference between the tablets and the capsule form of Doxycycline? Just noticed that doctor specifically requested capsules for daughter (but didn't previously for son).
Thanks in advance for any information.

Heard same from my LLMD. Apparently it's b/c the tablets are easier on the stomach.
I'm sure there's a more scientific response but that works for me.
Also, I've taken two rounds (42 days) worth of the capsules and am starting the tablets now and am noticing they are a bit easier on the stomach/to swallow.

I took the capsules first. I got so nauseous ALL the time that I couldn't even swallow water without.. well you know.
After a short break to get my stomach back, I switched to tablets. Very little problems with stomach upset there! Phew!
I ask my pharmacist if one was stronger than the other (for killing bacteria) and was told no. Never asked my llmd...

I found that the capsules really cleaned out my sinuses. Lots of drainage about an hour after taking. Didn't bother my stomach though.
Both were the same dose.
This didn't happen with the tablets.
I didn't notice any difference in lyme symptoms though.
