I have been treating for Babs for some time now, since September last year. Have been off and on Mepron, Art, Doxy, Ceftin, Biaxin, A-bab.

My LLMD has kept putting "needs bart treatment" on my sheet. We've never fully discussed this, as there is never enough time.

But, now that I guess the Babs is finally gone, Bart is coming out? I really didn't believe it was there, because I used to have Bart symptoms but they went away. Now, my feet, my arms and my legs are killing me. My chest is starting to feel tight, the anxiety seems to be coming back and the weight gain in my mid section is daunting. I'll be the first female Santa this year.

My ears are doing weird things too, along with strange word recall and numby weirdness in the face. Yesterday, I had the white fingers again which I haven't had for a while. Was struggling to feel warm.

Is this what others experience when Bart comes back or do I have lyme trying to break through?

I have Bart and we certainly overlap on some of our symptoms. I am never sure when you can rule out the impact of Lyme.
I am currently being treated with Flagyl , Rifampin (for Bart), AL Complex and ABart.

Best of luck with your treatment & I would certainly welcome a female Santa. But maybe without the beard.

jackie51,

The same thing happened to me. I took 6 months of tindamax and cipro for bart and LD and felt like I got back to 100%.

About a year later, I got a sinus infection and took a z-pak. Within a few weeks, my hands and feet started hurting, which is how my bart/LD symptoms started years ago. I went back on tindamax and cipro for 3 months and feel pretty good now. I am keeping my fingers crossed. It has been a couple of months since I stopped abxs, but my hands and feet feel ok.

Yes, I have had a similar experience. After a few months of Babs treatment, my Bart started to come out of the woodwork. The Babs is not yet gone, however, it must've been lowered to the point where the hiding Bart could move to the forefront. I have tons of painful subcutaneous nodules/fibrotic tissue that kills (see my post from today), terribly sore feet/soles (especially first thing in the morning, and after walking around in shoes- flats- for a while), terribly weak muscles/pain, more arthritic pain, anxiety, heart arrythmias, cold hands/feet, and of course, the classic transient scratch-like marks. The scratches are like something from out of this world. So, to answer your question, yes, I have witnessed my Bart lurking. I hope that you find resolution to your troubling symptoms.

I am finding it increasingly maddening to decipher Bart - Babs - Lyme symptoms. Babs and Bart overlap so much. I am getting to the point where I just want to treat until it is all gone!

I have foot pain and finger pain. I have not gotten into a rage in months. Since starting Bactrim ds, My neuro symptoms have really subsided, but my foot pain and finger pain have increased, and I have gotten the occasional Bart Rash. The rest of the stuff could be Babs. Since I am treating that too. It is so hard to tell for me. I do know I am getting better...
