ok-i figured it out. i have really been out of it pretending i didnt have lyme anymore i guess

when i can i play and when i cant iwhine

so...i knew about questran but not about welchol until now.

guess i'm lucky i have a primary offering it to me. maybe it will help lower lipids and get rid of all the other junk in me.

im still trying to make the welchol work but i am having troble

if i take it during the day i am so dizzy spacey and weak i can hardley get out of chair...and that is only taking one...im supposed to take 3 at each meal

taking one before bed gave me some cramps but as long as i took my C and mag i didnt hve severe constipation

(i have had ibs for 20 yrs-but i have the constipation kind-not the diarhea kind)

i decided to take 2 before bed...hoping that would be better than none...but since i did it 48 hrs ago i have been in awful pains -low abdominal cramps nd i have had severe constipation

i have dicyclomine for colon spasms - and the cramps do feel like my ibs-and i figured out if i took 2 dicys and 1 ibu every 6 hrs i have had some improvemt

but most of the reading i do is using the welchol to stop diarhea...and i dont normally have D

the pains were so bad and i really thoght my gut was exploding or something...but it is finally calming down-but it is still very sore

soooooooo. i'm wanting to hear from welchol users dealing eith the cramps and constipation

i ende up havig cold sweats and weakness and a fever too...but that is going away now. noway could i sit at computer yesterday

What are the possible side effects of WelChol?
Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, tell your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking this drug.

Side effects may include: abdominal pain, accidental injury, back pain, constipation, diarrhea, flu syndrome, gas, headache, infection, nausea, runny nose, sinus pain, upset stomach, indigestion, muscleaches, weakness

Welchol may cause low blood sugar which can make you anxious, sweaty, weak, dizzy, drowsy, or faint. It may also cause rapid heartbeat; vision changes; headache, chills, or tremors; or increased appetite. Contact your doctor if any of these symptoms occur.

SO ALL OF MY SX ARE SIDE EFFECTS...and im wondering what kind of accident it might cause???and also what kind of infection and where

lpkayak-

I am enjoying a very positive experience on Welchol, though as you, and I'm sure Lymetoo would agree, what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for everyone.

If you would like a detailed PM, hit me up.

Danny :-)

Welchol and cholestyramine tend to make lyme patients sick unless something like actos is given to down regulate cytokines. Actos is a diabetic med but it has some warnings.

Maybe you are having the typical lyme patient experience or perhaps you are allergic? I believe I've read before that you have difficulty with biotoxins so it's likely the typical lyme experience but I'm not a doctor.

I know you want welchol for the cholesterol but from the sounds of it you also need a toxin binder. You will feel better if you get the toxins out. There are other things you can take besides cholestyramine. I've posted about it and a list should be in the archives.

jed - Many will give up because they think it is not working because it is making them sicker but if a person has difficulty with biotoxins a mechanical binder will likely work for everyone.

The majority of lyme patients will need something to downregulate the hormones that get stirred up when mobilizing the toxins.
