Yes a little, sorry, it is a shot! It's not bad though and you will get used to it. Ask your doctor for EMLA cream and apply ice for 20min before the injection next time.
Ask them to inject it slowly, that helps the most!
Afterwards massage the site, walk around, and then apply heat. That will help prevent lumps and relieve the pain.
Good luck!

I let mine sit out and get a little warm 1/4 hour or so and make sure they inject slowly.

For me, the fear of hitting an artery or nerve was far worse than the pain of the shot. You really do get used to it. It was much better than Rocephin injections!

where are you injecting it????fear of nerve or artery?????how are you to tell . How long is needle? what sanitation precautions?
Also IS it helping yet??/ sometimes, in the good old days, you'd go get a shot and 24 hours later you could feel better, Not my experience with this illness , but there's hope.
I do pray this goes well for you. Nonna

The rump, of course I have fear of hiting the artery. The nurse showed my husband how to do the shot. My husband did my PICC Line for a year. We use acholol pads for sanitation.
