Would hep c and lyme be considered co- infection?

Hep C would not be a coinfection of Lyme since you cannot get Hep C from a tick. (I dont think!)

I'll take a stabb in the dark here: Is it hep C for sure (tested or not), Or are you have some Jaundice issues? I won't put anything past Lyme & co.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaundice Posted by tmascagni (Member # 35804) on :
Thanks for the answers... I have both but not sure where the hep c came from.. when I received the lyme diagnosis thought it may be possible...

- Hep C is not all that unusual and it can take decades for it to even show up in a test.
Besides the "alphabet" numbers assigned to various infectious kinds of hepatitis, certain medications can also cause hepatitis and so can other chronic infections, or acute infections.
I'm too tired now to separate out but this author has many links that will capture your attention.
I'll try to come back and separate out these but you can just look through the menu listings to get started. He has written books on both Lyme and Hepatitis (various types).
I attended a workshop with him years ago - a dual workshop for Hepatitis and for Lyme. Folks flew in for many states around to attend and the hepatisis patients there were all doing very well.
There was only one other lyme patient at the workshop but he graciously adjusted his presentation for us - and then we all got to learn so much more.
He has a website - I'll be back later with link unless others post that first (I hope). -

- Actually, I think Hepatits could possibly be a coinfection of lyme, in that it could be vector-borne.
It seems very logical to think that if a tick (or a mosquito) bites someone with ANY infection, that infection could be carried along to others with its later bite.
Something else few ever talk about is the possibility of spreading certain infections just by kissing - if there are any cuts or abrasions in the mouth.
Really, who doesn't sometimes have some kind of sore spot or bleeding gum when brushing?
I gave up junk food long ago - but there was a time with I would often get "Dorito" cuts in my mouth.
There are many links from a basic Google search for: Hepatitis, ticks.
I'm not sure anyone has the answer right now but I would not say it is not possible, especially since a person usually has to be infected for quite some time before the Hep C even registers its damage or can be detected.

- Yeah, but, if we give this more thought, we can teach the younger crowd how to prevent some things - and the older crowd, too.
If we tend to our respective livers all along, it gives us much more control, too.
Yes, Lyme can cause hepatitis. So can the treatments. So many of the RX drugs we use cause hepatitis, even OTC. Some foods, too, especially trans-fats.
With so many different types and causes, it is really something that everyone needs to be aware of as when our liver gets clogged up, it affects everything about our health.
I wish I had learned so much about all this even back in grade school. I feel like I've been failed with education regarding health and the connection with herbs.
I never even knew there was such a thing as a naturopathic physician until about 1990, then only because I happened to have moved to a state with a naturopathic college and college of acupuncture - with many NDs and L.Ac.s practicing here.
Then, just a couple years ago, I found out that in my small home town in Southern Illinois, growing up, we HAD a N.D. right there. But, he'd been silenced when the AMA decided to try to wipe them all out.
He'd graduated from a naturopathic college in Missouri that had been forced closed when the AMA & the pharmaceutical companies decided to wage war on natural medicines.
That ND had then gone on to become a chiropractor but I never went to him (but should have as I had severe neck pain all through high school).
One of his sons was in my class but, as teens, we never were really interested then in what parents did. It was not until that doctor's obituary was in the local paper website a couple years ago, that I even knew his background.
Had I known he was there when my mother became so very ill it surely would have helped. I know it would have helped me. It's a crime that such expertise was squelched.
We have so much to learn about how plants can help us. Education trumps fear & ignorance. Always. -
