Hi, I have been experiencing intense itching in my feet the last couple of evenings. Last night's episode was really intense. It started after I went to bed.
I have applied lotions like Aveeno or Vaseline. They help for a little while but the itching comes back. Finally I put some hydrocortisone on my feet this morning.
Is this a common symptom? Anything I can do about it?

That was one of my first symptoms of Lyme. I had it on my legs. I bought over the counter anti itch cream and it helped.

Could you be having an allergic reaction to something? Itching and swelling are symptoms of allergy.
You could try a dose of Benedryl and see if that helps. (The store brand is fine.) Try this before bedtime, as it might make you sleepy.
Some people with allergic reactions also get itchy eyes, rashes, and swelling of the face/mouth and hands. If your tongue begins to swell, get to the Emergency Room, as it may block your breathing.

Thanks for the replies! I don't think I am really allergic to anything. However, I did start taking a spoonful of ground flaxseed with my cereal every morning. I wonder if people could be allergic to flaxseed. I don't have any swelling though.
The itching comes on only around 9pm at night.
Could this be a symptom of RLS? My ferritin is just 24.
Can I take benadryl even if I am not allergic?

Yes, it is possible to be allergic to flaxseed. Also, the flaxseed may be rancid or moldy, which could also cause itching.
Also, itching may be caused by liver problems - have you had any blood tests to check your liver recently?

Neurotoxins tend to sink into the lower extremities, especially the feet and hands/finger joints. It takes extra effort to remove these from the areas. Lots of biofilm in the leg/foot area. Biofilm in the neck area (Jugulars and Azygos) affects all - head/shoulders/arm/fingers. It takes work on reducing biofilm, reduce toxic burden (especially metals which move south because of specific weight/gravity). And if the metals are in any area, infections concentrate there also.
I finally did the biofilm intervention for CCSVI and that helped me clear "ancient" deposits of neurotoxins in many body areas.
Learn about the Klinghardt Lyme Cocktail -- it addresses all problems at the same time. Lyme is a multi-faceted disease that will never give way unless all areas are attended to.

I haven't had my liver checked in a month or two but the last time I checked before that, everything was fine.
The flaxseed didn't have a rancid taste or smell. But just to be safe, I have stopped the flaxseed for the past 2 days or so and the itching has stopped. To confirm that it is the flaxseed, I plan to take it again in a week or so to see if the itching comes back.

With RLS, your legs would be jumping .. keeping you awake... no itching.

Hi All, I'm adding my 2 cent's in. When I got back on Rx, (4th time) I noticed my arms and legs would itch at night.
I found that if I took a hot bath, adding a couple cups of Epson salt, and soaked for a good 20 minutes - it stopped the itching.
I dropped by Bath and Body Works and picked up a bottle of Sleep Lotion with Lavender and Chamomile and rubbed this in after my bath - the itching is now not a problem.

A foot fungal infection could make feet itchy , or allergy to soap you wash your socks in.
You might try an antifungal lotion on feet .

I had intense itching in my hands and feet (and redness) when my liver enzymes were elevated. I was most likely having an allergic reaction to IV rocephin (which I finally had a severe allergic reaction to and had to change meds), so, maybe allergy or, I read is sometimes a sign of elevated liver enzymes.

I have had the itching you describe. For me, hot water only makes it WORSE. Try ice packs on the itchy area, should calm it down in minutes.

I just wanted to include that if you have blood flukes ( shishtosiomasis) you could have itch as well.
That comes from the exsperince with the parasite cleansings in the curezone.com forum for parasites.
Liver flukes can block the liver so the blood flukes shoshtosiomasis or cercaria( liver flukes that can block the liver).
