I have extreme herxes and am about to start Tindamax soon. I finally remembered that my doctor recommended burbur extract and/or parsley extract from NutraMedix...

I can only afford one for right now, so which one should I get??? Anyone have experience with them for herxing? My LLMD says with his consults with other LLMDs that the patient can take a few drops every fifteen minutes if they have to.

Thanks SO much, I really can't search through the already-posted topics right now to find information that might not even answer my question, please forgive me. [Frown]

I am using burder extract for detox support. I can't say I "feel" anything from using it, but I do know that I have had a relatively short course of antibiotics (6 months) and I feel pretty good. I am using herbals now to maintain my good response to abx.

It is very easy to make your own extract. I suggest you buy the burbur and make your own parsley extract. Here's how:

But a very large, very fresh bunch of organic parsley. Chop it coarsely and stuff it in a clean mason jar, approx. 3/4 full. Add vodka---at least 80 proof, preferably 100 proof, cheap stuff is fine. Fill the jar full, with a half inch of room at the top. Close tightly, shake well, and put away in a dark, cool place for 4-6 weeks. Strain through cheesecloth, squeezing out the liquid. Then bottle in a dark bottles with a medicine dropper, label and use. A dropperful once or twice a day will do.

It is SO MUCH CHEAPER to make your own! I make all sorts of things.

I like to make a detox tincture with parsley and cilantro mixed.

I hope this helps.

For the more physically-able it does sound easier! I'll keep that in mind for future reference. Thanks [Smile]

But I'm really looking to see who had a noticeable difference from taking one or the other, which works better, because I don't know much about either one.

You can call these guys, they sell many nurtamedix products and answer questions.

Burbur is similar to Milk Thistle for liver support. Both are bitter to stimulate bile activity. Not sure if one is better than the other.

Milk Thistle is not expensive... around $5.xx for 30 day supply. Never bought Burbur.

As far as I know Milk Thistle shouldn't be taken with Tindamax... But now I wonder if any of these should be, because of the CYP3A4 pathway.

I'm on Rifampin right now which increases it, then lemon juice which has been shown to decrease it, so haven't had a problem... But with Tindamax taking CYP3A4 inhibitors would decrease the absorption of the drug. I'd have to wonder. Hmm.

Intersting food for thuoght!

I would definitely get Burbur. I notice a big difference when I take (per my llmd) 1/2 dropper full every 10 minutes for up to 3 hours. It really cuts into my herxes.

I also get a lot of herx help from liquid benedryl.

Hope you feel better!

Burbur is better. Another good drink is freshly squeezed lime juice with truvia sweetener. Drink through a straw.

If the herx is really bad take 2 activated charcoal tablets at least 2 hours away from meds.
