My bedroom has a weird smell and I am suspecting mold. Maybe it's part of the puzzle of why I'm sick.

So, I am planning on going to a hotel for a little while to see if things get better.

Has anyone else had to leave their house because of mold? How long should I stay out of the house to notice a difference?

I'm surprised no one has answered this. A few of LN members have.

If you can afford to get away for a few days, then by all means you should. I think someone said 3 days was all it takes.

I know last summer when I went away, I felt sooo much better. We have mold in our house, not much though, and are slowly dealing with it.

I am in the process of remediating the mold in my house. I just got home from a five day trip (which I felt the best I've felt in a long time).

I got home and all the same stuff has come back, low energy, bone pain, joint pain and headaches. It's not even close to how it was when I had all the infections active, but I think this is what is keeping me at 85%.

Thanks for the responses.

I fear i could have mold because there were like 5 days or so I had the windows open in my bedroom last fall and I felt better than I had in the past year.

I actually felt pretty close to good! Then it got too cold to leave windows open.

Planning on going to a hotel soon.

I'm currently renting an apartment, pending remediations for mold in my house. We had a serious problem in the basement(since treated) and also behind stucco, which should be dealt with during the next few weeks. Then we'll have professional cleaners in, and I'll move back.

What tipped me off was that I felt much better during the week, when a lot of time was spent at work, than on the weekends, when most time was spent at home. We hired an environmental consultant and she found all the mold. Nothing was apparent visually.

I had HLA testing to see if I was particularly susceptible to mold, and I was not, though I am susceptible to 'post-Lyme syndrome'. Perhaps in my weakened state it made me worse, or perhaps the levels were so high that even I, as a less susceptible person, became symptomatic. Anyway, I now take Cholestyramine(CSM) to remove toxins.

I'm much, much better, though don't know if it's the CSM or the change of environment.

I posted a few months ago about mold and got quite a few great responses from people on this forum. You might want to do a search on lymenet, it has a ton of good info.

I am leaving my home with my four kids, to move into a different house that I will rent, essentially because of mold.

My basement is full of mold and it is certainly effecting our health. We all have lyme and coinfections, and I feel that the mold is definately hindering us from getting well.

There are people much sicker than us, and I am so thankful for how far I have come and for how healthy my children are compared to others...but our issues are still way too much, and this mold is certainly a huge factor.

I didn't know any of this until I learned about it here on lymenet. Now I am informed and can make the best decision for my kids and me.

I think it is a great idea to find out if mold is in your home. Good luck and keep reading! [Smile]

I had to take trips away from home past two years due to family deaths and problems and. Score that I rarely left home because I just. Couldn't
I noticed feeling betting within a few days to a week and I started to suspect mold or some encironmental problem
I opens d windows and when there was windy days and open windows I was much better. and some better with just windows open on normal days. That tells you something. Also the feeling better was obvious because at home I woke up especially bad for years to the point I was in a state of fatigue so bad it was also physically a feeling through my bash where it felt like somethj g attacked my nerves and disease pilled up on them. I had to stiffly and on pain wobble around shaking my arms and legs out trying to.clear them I would cry in pain and though movement helped in the paina and fatigue and by mid day i was my more normal sick self. At one point I had to be somewhere fall day e dry day and granted it was a health clinic I could tell quite fast the difference spending time there all day as opposed to home the fatigue not near as thick and dev devilitating and I had clearer brain and eyes and my body felt like a weight was lifted off me. I did not and was not able to verify what it was but I am not there any longer and it's been four months I have felt better on that I am not fighting against something anymore I do not feel as if I will. Ever get ahead. And things like toe fungal infectios that refused to heal suddenly just grow out I. Am so happy to not be on. The house Gfanted I am on a long term hotel room settiing I am tired of. I am grateful. I would arrange to leave and for enough time to notice and also enough time to see and feel your body shift
Good luck

I really do think there is a mold problem that is keeping me from getting well. Those 5 days or so with the windows open were the only days that I didn't feel so horrible on abx.

Is it possible mold is what is causing me to feel so bad on abx? Cause the herxes never seem to end.

I do need to step up detox though, and thanks Springshowers for the detox thread!!

I think it contributes to it, mold is a neurotoxin the same way Lyme is.

I told my LLMD I was at 80% before I even got sick with Lyme. Little did I know I was sick from mold.

I'm glad that I know now, and I am hoping that this knowledge about my DNA will help me to understand how to stay healthy in the future.
