Sorry to post this here, but I need some advice/help.
I'm having trouble with my feet, esp left foot. I have nerve pain in the ball of my foot. I just paid $140 for new sneakers with orthotics and now my foot hurts even more.
Maybe I will get used to them, but it's day 4 and I'm not happy at all.
I'm afraid I may have to see a podiatrist, but I don't have much money... esp NOW! I can afford an appointment, but think I will need prescribed orthotics or ultrasound treatments to fix my foot.
OR .. I need surgery. Just wondering if anyone here has had the same problem??

I know this may sound silly, and you may not have the same thing that my husband had, but he had bad pain in his foot at one time.
We asked our kinesiologist what she would recommend and she put him on collodial minerals by Natures Sunshine(I think that was the brand.)
His heel pain went away within about a month. It was miraculous!

Well, I've been taking extra minerals for about 3 yrs. Wonder if it's the same as colloidal?
My problems with my foot began 30 yrs ago. I'm in deep doo-doo. Posted by gatorade girl (Member # 24896) on :
It won't take away the problem, but have you tried biofreeze. You can buy it at drugstore.com. It might help with the pain. Feel better. I also do not walk around with bare feet. I have shoes or slippers in the house. The bare floor ( cold) even though I can barely feel it puts the pain through the roof. I think the bare cold floor irritates my nerves in my feet.

The proper minerals will work to remove the cause of your foot problems = toxic metals moved south. If the metals move down there, the infections also will.
Colloidal minerals may have a certain effect, but not longterm.
You got your amalgam fillings probably years ago?
Yes, I know, you removed them. But you did not follow through on the major issue ---- doing a metal detox.
Half the mercury that used to be in your amalgam fillings has long since then moved on to the rest of the body. The feet because of gravity are prone to collect it.
If you can find someone who knows how to do Direct Resonance Testing (per Yoshiaki Omura, M.D.) you may find that to be the case. It takes less than five seconds and an couple of arms.
Heavy metal detoxing does not cost an arm and a leg. But it takes patience, persistence, and the realization that not all started with an insect bite or tick bite.
If you fall into the KPU category, it takes very specific and a combination of minerals costing a few cents a day to enable you to start detoxing a lot of toxins.
It is especially typical on a foot or leg that suffered an injury, fracture or sprain, surgery, - even many years ago. Because the metals settle there followed by the pathogens. Scar tissue and scars are therefore always treated with Neural Therapy. It may not always work, but it shakes the toxin tree. I remember your having some Neural Therapy years ago - or was it Prolo?
Take care.

Do you have a good chiropractor that can take a look at your feet? Mine will adjust my feet, knees, hips, back, whatever hurts and needs fixed. All bones can come out of alignment and cause pain.
Misalignment might not be your problem but I would certainly look into it before I would allow anyone to perform surgery.
Since you've only had the shoes for 4 days can you return them since they are uncomfortable? It might be worth asking since you paid so much.

Something I tried that got rid of my heel pain is I figured out that I had a huge trigger point in the ball of my foot. My PE-1 was relieving the pain for several hours, but it would always come back.
I had a Back Buddy I bought off Amazon to work out knots in my back. I used that on my heel ( stood on the knob and rolled my heel around ) and oh my Lord it hurt like the DICKENS doing that, but it worked the trigger point out and now the pain is completely gone and doesn't come back. And it was so bad before doing that I limped and could barely walk normally. Now I walk just fine.
Maybe Google "Trigger Points in The Foot" and see if you can find info.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Yes, they did tell me I could take the shoes back if they don't work out, but THEN what do I wear? I have nothing to wear as I just found out all of my shoes are really the wrong size (hence the troubles).
Gigi.. I have no clue where to begin with toxins and metal detox. I am so afraid of doing the wrong thing.
yes, I had prolo done in the past
Will talk to my chiro about adjusting my feet. He helped my carpal tunnel about 6 mo ago.

Homeopathic Hypericum and/or Arnica (can alternate them as close as 5 minutes apart) may help with foot pain...
Arnica gel rubbed on the sore foot may also help, but works best when used in conjunction with the Arnica pellets/tincture taken orally.
B Complex vitamins, and extra B12 may be needed...
Epsom salt soaks are also very good for sore feet.
Massaging the sore place on the foot may or may not make it worse, so be careful.
My feet hurt horribly if I walk without shoes on even in the house.
Since your feet have been squeezed in the wrong size shoes for so long, it will take time for the correct size shoes to feel comfortable. Give it time.
Wear the orthotics only for half an hour a day for the first week, then slowly increase the length of time you wear the orthotics.
Take care,

Have you tried soaking your footsie in Epsom salts as Razzle suggested?
When my foot hurts heat feels good. A hot .....not too hot LOL or you will have other problems....hot damp wet towel wrapped around your foot.
Worth a try...I had bad pain on the side of my feet. I finally figured out it was due to flip flops. I am now a sock person too.
Have you tried hubby rubbing your foot?

I went to a podiatrist and he made molds of my feet and then orthotics to go into my shoes. The relief was instant.
It doesn't sound right that the orthotics you got are making your feet feel worse. Nope, that isn't supposed to happen.
I had to get used to the orthotics. Doc said to wear them 1-2 hours the first day and then increase the amount of time for the next few days.
But, if the orthotics are doing the job properly, they are relieving the pressure that is causing the nerve to fire, and your pain should be less.
I would go to a podiatrist if I were you.
My goal is to never have to have surgery on my feet. So far, the orthotics are doing the job. My calluses are just disappearing thanks to the orthotics. They distribute my weight properly, so the body no longer needs to make calluses.

Been thinking about the epsom salt soak. I can't lift the pan of water and hubby is gone most of the day and for the next few weeks, gone in the evening. Maybe I could put it in the tub and fill it, then stand there. Oh fun. Not sure my back will allow me to sit on the edge of the tub.
Rubbing does not sound like fun to me. Ouch. I had my first pair of prescribed orthotics 30 yrs ago. They helped for quite a while. I don't remember when I got rid of them, but they began to hurt my feet. I got new ones about 8 yrs ago and dumped those 4 yrs ago.
The last ones were from my chiro and they were like walking on rocks. Well, the first ones were too. I guess I'll call my insurance company. I don't think they will pay for ANY of it.
I've been wearing the orthotics I have now for about 3 hrs a day.

i thought ball of the foot pain was bart...rifampin?
theres also something called "neuroma"...i had that surgery(woke up in the middle of it grrrrr) and it didnt help my pain
i had a specialist -famous guy in nyc ready to amputate my feet at one point...cuz nothing he did helped. i was scheduled for surgery---went to lyme conference in 95 or so i think and the llmds there told me it was lyme and if i cut off my feet the bugs would just find somewhere else to go
after lyme tx i had one time when i woke with severe nerve pain and a podiatrist was able to stop the pain with whirlpool, ultrasound, tes, and wrapping-i had to see him every other day. then new inserts and i have been ok since. (almost-i lost the inserts when i moved recently and i am beginning to have trouble)
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Usually heel of the foot for bart. I have no symptoms of bart. Never had it back when I was treated.
Find those orthotics, kayak!! I just spoke with the podiatrist's office manager and she said if I got prescribed orthotics, they would last forever. DANG!! WHERE ARE THE ONES I PAID BIG BUCKS FOR WAY BACK WHEN???
We've moved several times since then. I don't know if they're in TX or here!! Could be in our storage here or in TX...sigh. She said they cost around $350.
There is hope that the ones I have and are wearing .. will work. She said it could take several weeks to know for sure. So I have hope!!
Also, I got to thinking that maybe the ones from the chiro began hurting because the SHOES were too small .. not from the orthothics themselves. So I DO have those here.

i know-mine cost 300 and im really missing them

This may seem irrelevant BUT , be sure your B vitamins (ALL) and folic acid levels are at a good level. My mom had lots of nerve loss anda neurologist put her on B's , B12 shots, and extrafolic acid . He said her nerves dying were from lack of enough of these . She may not process them well . She did improve after taking , niacin, B's , folic acid and B12 shots . The neuro is well known .

Saying a prayer for you too ...
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Thanks, Ann! I do take B12 shots, but probably not enough of the other B's.
My foot is slightly better today. I'm hoping I just overdid the walking in the new shoes.
Prayer always helps! Back atcha on that!

TuTu, I feel your pain. There is nothing worse than foot pain (other than all the other pain we deal with) cause it doesn't matter how good you feel if your feet hurt you can't get around. I have had ball of foot pain, but right now it is the top the of my feet.
some things that have taken the edge off for me.
Ice actually helps a lot. My massage therapist suggested soaking my feet in ice for 20 minutes...but it's winter and I just couldn't do it. so it was just an ice pack.
IBULIEVE- an ibuprophen gel you can get from canada. (I think $18)
Topricin: a homeopathic rub...works for somethings not others worth a try. you can get it at Whole Foods (also great for muscle pain)
Rolling your foot on a tennis ball or a small frozen water bottle (like an 8 ounce bottle)
stretching your toes. you know those things that look like BIG pedicure spacers...you just wedge em in and sit there while they stretch your toes. that may feel real good for the ball of your feet.
and lastly, not sure if it works or not... may be a coincidence, but while I was looking up Grapefruit Seed Extract recently, I read a few online entries that said rubbing the GSE on their heels (12 -25 drops) helped heel spurs. I tried it on the tops of my feet, and the next day I had remarkably little pain. the pain came back though in 2 days and when I tried it again, it didn't work. but I will try it again.
go slow with the orthodics. I got some a few years ago and they threw my hips and knees out of whack and caused a lot of pain. they may have been right for my feet, but my body was so used to compensating it really shocked my system.
feel better tutu.
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Those are great ideas, kudzu!!! One exception... ICE!!! I have Raynaud's .. so no way on that one.
Ibulieve sounds good! I can't take ibuprofen, so that sounds good!
Not sure about the tennis ball or toe stretchers.. sounds painful.
You are right... my hips and knees are not happy... but better today. The podiatrist's office told me about the compensating. You are so right!

Just wondering if a Rife would help. I can get immediate pain relief of the neck/shoulder by using the Dough coil.
IMO, Rife is good for improving blood circulation.
" Rather than trying to beat these physics, a Japanese technology company, ABI, has developed CAS or Cells Alive System that actually changes the physics of freezing.
Using an oscillating electrical field, it causes water molecules to spin (as opposed to vibrate as in a microwave) and stops them from clustering and forming ice crystals that damage cell walls.
This spinning motion also artificially lowers the freezing point of water to about -7C - when the product reaches this temperature, the electrical field is turned off and it freezes almost instantaneously from the inside out.
With CAS freezing, power is no longer a major issue as uniform freezing is achieved.
CAS uses 30% less power than conventional freezers, and can be up to five times faster depending on the product."
This is amazing! Like the electrical field in a CAS freezer, the magnetic field generated by a Rife machine may also change the thermodynamic properties of the molecules, increasing the motion ability of those molecules.

Mix a bit of cilantro, just a few drops, and curcumin together with some Quintessence or any antimicrobial liquids and rub it into feet before going to bed. It works well for neurotoxins stored in the feet.
If you do chiro or other manipulating, you are moving the toxins and relocating them. Be sure you take binders to help bind the toxins and get rid of them.
Rife mobilizes, but needs binders to remove the toxins from the body. If you don't use binders, toxins are shifting and stay in the body. Binders are necessary with any electromagnetic approach.
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
hmmm.. I do have a rife machine... and chlorella.
antimicrobial liquids? as in olive leaf extract in a dropper bottle? Why antimicrobial?
curcumin needs to be liquid too?
Posted by Kudzuslipper (Member # 31915) on :
oh...then no ice for you!!!
GiGi I wonder if that is also what the GSE did for the tops of my feet? does that make sense?
they hurt like hell today. I start PT tomorrow.
foot pain sucks!

I had to see my doctor for a follow up on the TENS unit I have for my neck and back.
He gave me Voltaren for my foot. I've put the excess on my neck too!
I'm a little afraid of it since I have A-fib. NSAIDS carry risks. I also can't take them due to stomach issues... soo...
Maybe I should have ordered the Ibuleve!! Posted by annxyzz (Member # 20404) on :
Just a thought TUTU: How about trying bromelain in case of inflammation? It helps me with inflammation. Or tart cherry juice ?
Praying for you.....
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Thanks. I can't do either. Tart cherry juice = sugar, and bromelain eats my stomach, like ibuprofen and naprosyn do.
For some reason, turmeric is not as hard on the stomach, thank goodness!!!

I believe IBULIEVE is the same strength as volteran... just not over the counter here in the states. let me know if it works... the ibulieve does a bit, but not like taking ibuprophen (which I can't take either...but when I do it works for pain, just rips open my stomach too)
Posted by Kudzuslipper (Member # 31915) on :
Tutu, I am gonna hijack your thread for a related question.
If the tops of my feet hurt due to lyme and co, (they have hurt since abx) will physical therapy help? Can I do any harm?
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
I would think that orthotics and good shoes would do more than physical therapy.
and yes, anything that is an anti-inflammatory
Posted by Catgirl (Member # 31149) on :
Lymetoo, this may sound odd, but only one of my feet has a problem. It's just one toe that has a tiny corn at the tip of it (not on bottom or top of foot but on the end). My toe hurt so bad (the toe pad hurt). I thought I had nerve pain.
The pain eventually affected the way I was walking. Finally, I switched docs and the new one thought I had bart. She was right. Pain is almost gone now.
For me to just have one toe pad on one foot in pain which affected the way I walk is not something most drs. would get.

i have all kinds of feet problems...
one of dr. c's nurse reccommended sketchers shape ups, and i was SO skeptical, but they helped me SO much!!!
i wish i had more suggestions... you really might just need surgery
i hope you find a solution soon!

Anybody know what makes the skin thick, hard and lumpy on the pad of feet? First it started on my right foot, now it's on my left foot. I would think it's either candida or parasites.
I do have pain also in the heel, but that is from bart.
Posted by Susie R (Member # 30780) on :
I had crippling foot pain prior to treatment with minocycline and rifampin. It was the first symptom to go away.
I coped with it by taping my foot with a special kind of athletic tape called LEUKOTAPE. You put three pieces of tape running the length of your foot from the ball to up the back of the heel, one on the inner edge, one in the middle, and one on the outer edge. Not too tight. You then put three piees of tape across the foot. One at the level of the ball of the foot, one across the instep, and one a little bit over the heel.
You can leave this tape on for a full week, it can get wet without issue.
This enabled me to walk when the pain was so bad. You can look up "how to tape for plantar fasciitis" on youtube and watch how to videos.
The tape is pretty cheap.

Thanks, catgirl, katie and susie!! Good information! I'm pretty sure my foot problem is not bart. I have no symptoms of it. My foot has bothered me for 30 yrs.
katie.. I think I would break my neck with those shape-ups! They seem to put a lot of pressure on my knees when I've tried them.
susie.. will try the taping .. Sounds good
jackie... sounds like a callous. You probably need orthotics because a callous means you are putting too much pressure on that area. I am starting to get one on my bad foot.
The people at New Balance told me (after scanning my feet) that with the orthotics, the pressure would be off the ball of the foot.. it would even things out.
-- and guess what? I'm already reacting negatively to the Voltaren. My heart hurt last night and I was beginning to get acid reflux too. GRRRRRRRRRR
Posted by Kudzuslipper (Member # 31915) on :
oh Darn Tutu. I was hoping the you could handle the Volterex. don't bother buying the ibulieve then. Same drug, may not be as effective, but I bet it would bother you just the same.
