It is commonly paired with clarithromysin class ABX to raise the alkaline level in cells to help the ABX work better.

Hope I phased that correctly.

I took it with Doxy and Rifampin. I was too wiped out on everything, so I temporarily stopped the Plaquenil.

I'm still new to treatment and was only on it for a month, so I don't know how long it takes to see results.

Be sure that you have a baseline visual field test done, and then every 6 months, to ensure that your eyes are ok while on it.

nonna . . You won't really notice anything one way or the other. Doesn't mean it isn't working.

Biaxin and Zith are very similar.

Plaquenil was a saving grace all of my years with misdiagnosed lupus. It alone gave me my life back. I tried going off of it and got so achy in hands and arms. Now I'm back on it and feel much better. I had plateaud with my treatment so this was added for that reason. My son is also on it.
No eye problems with over 10 years on it.
