I have only been in treatment for 2 months. However, I have been herxing severely every few days.

I almost went to the ER on Mon night and last night. I didn't go because I knew they would do nothing to help.

My LLMD/ND advised me to take a week off of antibiotics (Doxy and Rifampin, I had stopped Plaquenil on Sunday) to give myself a break. I am to focus on detox and supplements.

It is very disappointing that my body won't cooperate with treatment. I want to be well...yesterday.

Have any of you had to take a break from antibiotics to give your body time to catch up?

How did you deal with the feeling of disappointment?

Very common to take a break - you need to listen to your body, and also your Doctors!!!

It is disappointing but, we have to be careful with all these drugs we're taking...

I have had to take breaks too. It is better to take the break than to push yourself over the edge. I am taking a break for three days after today because I have to travel to see an LLMD.

I had to take a break too (drug reaction). It's no big deal. Listen to your doc. :)

2 months isn't long in the broad scheme of things. Take breaks, the body needs them.

Treatment consists of killing/deterring the organisms, detoxing and fortifying. Nothing wrong with detoxing and fortifying - ie, supplements - it's part of treatment. Sometimes that's what we need to do before our body can handle more organism wipe-out.

I have had to take them often due to low white blood cell count. I know it is frustrating because you want to be well, but try to keep focused on getting to the end in a healthful way.

I had to only 2 weeks in from Candida. I also barely made it through the initial 28 days of doxy due to nausea.

I'm currently taking a break for the 4 days. Got a cold, took a decongestant for 5 days and thinned my gut lining. Add antibiotics/supplements on top ='d blisters in mouth and gut lining.

Per Dr., now taking only Aloe juice (to heal and coat the gut) and migraine meds. Muscle exhaustion is way UP! - However Energy, Mood and Mental alertness - Way Up too [woohoo]

Will resume med's on Monday.
